hey all,

I received an email last night to be part of a Tungsten C survey (I own one). The survey was about features I'd like to see in a next-generation device, including quite a few about VoIP, streaming content, and WiFi/Internet syncing...

Very interesting, eh?

Anyone else get a similar survey request?

It wasn't the usual weekly spam from PalmOne, was it? I finally unsubscribed because they kept sending me useless emails advertising cases for Palms I didn't have and ads for Palms I didn't want.

that's initially what I thought it was, but not so... Most of the questions were about office/communications software I used/didn't use, next-generation wireless stuff, and some of the general usage stuff. I was impressed by the type of questions they asked - I had given up hope for a T|C2, but maybe it's not such a wild idea, especially given the Tungsten X in the pipeline!

That's encouraging news. I hope you gave them positive feedback about the keyboard.

I certainly did. I'm thinking hard about buying a T|X if it turns out to match the specs we've seen, but I don't know if I could live without a keyboard... I never realized how much of a hindrance Graffiti was until I didn't have to use it anymore... ;-)

I found grafitti very annoying to use, the keyboard is the thing I like most about the TC. I had been thinking that I my next PDA might be a Treo or a Sony Ericsson P910i but I'd much rather keep my PDA and Cell Phone separate.

I agree with you completely... When people talk about convergence it makes me think of those old 1970's all-in-one hifi stereos. The components were all mediocre compared to ones you could buy individually, and if one thing broke you were screwed. And, since they gave you everything they figured you'd want, there was little way to add a component or another set of speakers...

It may be cumbersome carrying separate devices, but at least we can get the best of each...

I got a similar questionaire. It was rather long and detailed. It seemed strange to be getting it since, the TX appears ready to ship if we are to believe the rumors. It made me wonder if the TX is really coming that soon. While they might use a survey to peek our interest in a TX, it was way too long for just that. Many of the questions seemed to be repeats toward the end. Perhaps I got 3 sureveys since I am registered for 3 "current" devices. Maybe this survey is really aimed at the TZ coming next year :D  Maybe they'll call it the TaZmo.......
