No, PSP cannot accept videos above 320x240, though if you really want to know, I can tell you how to set image converter 2 to output this resolution.

The psp can support this resolution I have downloaded movies that were set to this. I dont know what program they are using. I also wish not to move from imageconverter because its the best one I have seen. Just to make sure thought how do I make image converter to output This resolution.

Its simple really. Just enter regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Sony Corporation, Image Converter 2, then 2.0. In this file, you see alot of registry entries. The HI, LO, NO, and SH correspond to the quality settings. For the quality setting that you want to set the resolution for, look for the width and height reg entries. Double click on the name of the entry. Unless you love binary, change the base to decimal, and input the correct settings, ie, width=480, and height=272. I really don't think this will work for the PSP, but you can always try.
Be sure not to mess with anything else in your registry. Always make a backup before editing the registry, though jjesusfreak01 seems to know what he's doing ;)

Whats the difference in HI LO. I usually encode movies at 384kb per seconds. Not 784kb(dont know exact kb per second of hand). But I do convert music videos at 784kbs. Which one should I edite there are like a hundred files.

You can edit whichever you want. There is nothing different about each one except what they are set to by default. I believe HI is set to 768kbps, but those are not hard to change. The difficult one is the framerate because it isnt in FPS, but the rest of the settings are self explanatory. The bitrate cannot be set above 768, and dont forget to switch to decimal to change settings.

Can someone tell me if I have to uninstall ImageConverter 1.5 (which I LOVE) to use & install IC 2.1?

I dont believe you have to uninstall 1.5. I have them both on one of my desktops, and though 2.0 doesnt run (hyper-threading problem), it looks like they can both be installed.

I highly doubt you downloaded any movie for PSP at 480x272. I would put money on that.

I'd put money on it too ... what I believe happens is that anything above 320x240 gets stretched to full screen ...
I would also bet that IC2 encoded movies above 320x240 won't work, you need to run a small utility on them to get the psp to play them (edit: them meaning movies above 320x240, I have no idea if that would even work if they are encoded by IC2) ...
just let it go, there are better alternatives out there - cliemp4encoder(check the uxforum, yes i'm the developer), 3gp encoder (the first), psp9 (havent tried it yet)
and probably more ... all the previously mentioned use the open source work on ffmpeg to do the encoding and the quality is way better than ic2 at comparable bitrates ...

Indeed, the maximum is 480x160 nowadays as the psp has a limitation to 76 800 pixels...
Could you post a link to this 480x272 movie?

You know what u are right its not, it 320x240. Sorry for the mistake. Just looked under the properties. But the file when I downloaded it did say it was 480x272. I get some of my movies from pspcrazy.com. They have a lot of movies, tv shows etc. So I quess it not possible. That sucks.

If you use Image Convertor to convert a vid to 480x272 and the vid is not 16:9 ratio, you will end up with black areas. This is due to Image Convertor keeps an aspect ratio. I think you should use FFMPEG or PSPVideo 9. My bro uses it and gets fullscreen vids all the time. But they are streched out due to most are 4:3 ratio.

Well, black areas arent really that bad if they are supposed to be there, because without them you get a stretched video. Another converter such as ffmpeg is the way to go though if you want better control over encoding options.

It is possible to run bigger videos than 320*240 in the psp you only have to hack the header from the mp4 file ( or use psprez )

Thanks guys I guess I just stick with it how it is. Its enough hassle just to get a movie into mp4 format I dont want to have to do anything else every time I want to convert a movie
