Hey all!
I saw this on PDA247 and though I would cross post it here. I have not tried it, I have no problem with the speed picsel loads (on the rare occasions when I use it). Thought it might be of some interest to others here.

The text of what it says at PDA247 is, "From Dmitry- "Many Sony device users complain that after they install a lot of software on their device, picsel viewer gets unstable and takes forever to load. I have made a fix for that called picselAccelerator and it can be found on my site in the downloads section."

Have a random day. Here is the link. http://dmitrygr.titaniumhosting.com/download.php?lng=en

I had all but given up on Picsel.

Has anyone tried this on a Sony device yet?

it works really well on my TH55. speeds up pretty much every action in Picsel. especially the loading time for files.

Yes, this has already been discussed on this site for about 2 weeks now on numerous threads. It works on both my UX50 and TH55. Thanks to Dimitry. :)

Yeah this is a dupe. Shaun must be slipping, I'm surprised he hadn't picked it up earlier :D

Great Accelerator. I actually use Picsel now. Picsel should pay you freelance or hire you.

pay me? for what? thier stupidity? LOL. I fixed their stupid way of doing things. They use custom events a lot on loading, and all programs that subscribe to 'hede' notification (sent every time any event is recieved by the system) get called (about 1000 times per program per start of Picsel). Therefore as you install more programs that use the 'hede' notificatin it slows down. What I did was disable broadcast of 'hede' notification from Picsel, thus speeding it up.

They could have just not used custom eents to do theit things, or coudl have done what I did.

You are right. As great as this is, it isnt something that I would pay for, and I doubt you spent too much time programming once you figured out what the problem was. You do have alot of great programs though that are worth buying, so if anyone wants to support Dmitry, buy one of his other programs.

NOOOO!!!! Not the consumer paying for it, the company should pay you for making their product better.

Of course, this is different for something like "Landscape", which Mobile Stream put alot of work into, though it is something that should have been there to begin with.

kinda ridiculous to charge for 1K of code.

I see it in that you made their product better. No matter if its 1K or 1MB of code, you made their product more useable. It should have been that way from the start but it was their error for not doing so.

Also, jjesusfreak01, do you use Picsel more now that its faster? If so, then the change dmitrygr made although small has made a significant difference. I use it way more now. Even for pictures sometimes. You guys are looking at the small code instead of the bigger picture. A little hack can go a long way. Even though you corrected their errors, you still increased the usability of their product.

Oh well, I still see it as a big thing, even though its only 1K of code.

Oh I dunno ;)

To me it depends - I'm a quality over quantity kinda guy, so I'd rather pay for 1KB of genius elegance than 20GB of stinky crap...

Alas I'll have to settle for giving you kudos points ;)

Edit: Damn you, you fastposting git JA! (j/k :D) This was meant as a reply to dmitry's post... ;)

PicselAccelerator is great!!! I use this more now more often to view my work files in MSword format and comes out great and quick, so do PDF's and images.

I just started learning how to program, and I loaded a bunch of PDF tutorials up on my Clie, so I am using PicselViewer more. Anyway, I didnt say I wouldnt use it more, just that I wouldnt pay for it. It is a much needed fix, and I am very thankful that Dmitry made it.

Hey, I never said anything bad about Dmitry or his products, just that I wouldnt pay for that one. I support freeware development, and shareware if I believe the developer has put alot of work into the program.

Thanks a lot dmitrygr!

Just wanted to let you know someone in Spain is using your useful 1k of code. It's not that it's small, it's just that you bothered about it and used your knowledge and time to make other's life easier (or at least faster).

Besides this doesn't only make picsel faster, it also saves battery (mine lasts way more now when using Picsel!).

Thats a really good point. Whenever the system has to put more effort into processing, it takes more battery.

Hello las palmas :P

I've got it installed and i have no trouble with it and repligo, i think that you must reset an try, or uninstall and reinstall picselaccelerator.

yo lo tengo instalado y no he tenido ningun probelma con el Repligo, creo que deberias hacer un reset o bien desinstalar y reinstalar el picselaccelerator.

Adios a todos
Goodbye everybody

I tried a few more times and now I can find the server. I'll give the app a try tonight.
