Clie only runs on external power

I just bought a batteryless NR70v from Ebay, but in a new battery from cliebattery.com, and it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what the problem is and how it can be fixed? If it is a problem with the connector, could I take a CLIE universal connector from, say, a T415 and put in in the NR70v? I don't have any problems with taking it apart, as long as it gets fixed.

I'm assuming that you already tried charging it for at least 4+hours...

yes I have, and the charging indicator light isn't solid, only flashing. That's what it did before the battery was put in, so I am assuming that means it is running only on external power and the battery isn't charging.
