Memory stick problem when synching

While attempting to sync from my Apple computer to my NX70V Palm, I find that I loose the ability to recognize the memory stick on my Palm. I have downloaded the Palm 4.0 for Apple OSX (Jaguar) and the Clie software for OSX from Markspace(t.m.) and the problem persists. If I hard reset the Palm, it recognizes the memory stick, but any attempt to sync to the NX70V results in the loss of recognition of the Clie Memory stick. Is there any procedures or software fixes for this problem.
