I'd love to have it on my Palm, but ti won't install correctly. Anyone found a workaround?

Clie RMC is talking to hardware that only the Clie has. It will not work on any other devices because the hardware is not there.

I am not sure why you would want the Clie RMC anyways. There are better 3rd party remotes that are "learning" and more customizable. Only reason I use the Clie RMC is because it is the only thing that takes advantage of the enhanced IR on clie PDAs

the reason i don't like the third party options is because they are learning. they don't do anything out of the box. if i walk into a bar with omniremote pro on my Tungsten, I can't control the TV unless I train my T|T whereas with my wife's TG50 or my T615 I can just tell it that there's a JVC TV around and boom I'm in control.

There should be a way to get it to work. after all, sony's "enhanced" IR may work over greater distances than the old Sony IR (on the N-series, etc), but it doesn't travel any further than the standard Palm IR.

Actually, I believe that there are two IR blasters in the Clie, a standard Palm-style for regular beaming, and a second enhanced for remote control-type operations.

If not, I am quite sure that it requires a separate language, since it took a while for the 3rd party companies to figure out how to take advantage of the enhanced IR.

You are right nightfly... there are physically two diodes in the Clie. It is a whole different set of hardware to control the "Enhanced" IR port. I don't know if it would be possible to write a sort of intercepting program that could take the instructions that would normally go to the Clie IR port and redirect them (with a bit of modification I'm sure) to the Palm IR port. Or... if you could just write a remote control app for the Palm that can read the database files from the ClieRMC app. That sounds like your best bet right there.
