View Full Version : Redefining Capture button

Anybody know of a tool, besides THe Go! Go!, that allows redefining the Capture button on a Sony Clie TH55? THe Go! Go! only allows some very narrow choices (make either any press of Capture, or a long press of Capture act as a Power button; and make a short press act as Jog or Back).

I'd like to have Capture simply be a duplicate of Jog, so that if I press and hold Capture, I get exactly the same affect as pressing and holding Jog (I'm using Jog as my activation press-and-hold key for Graffiti Anywhere).

Thanks!

Rob

I stick with THe Go! Go!, however, since it is the only app that can remap the capture button to power off from system lockout screen. DefaultCapture requires you to enter password on the system lockout screen before it can turn off. Unless you don't put security on, then Default Capture can turn it off as well as THe Go! Go!. With all confidential information (Bank Accounts, ID, passwords, etc. in my TH55), I personally don't want to have my TH55 with security off.

I asked Sharky about this earlier today, and he said that his work with Dmitry on remapping may lead to a better way to do this in the near future.

I use MapButton to remap my capture button and voice recorder button. I also can send it to the card using PowerRUN to conserve space, or you can delete it after reassigning. It is up to you. I used PowerRUN because just in case I want to change it. It is nice because you can activate Clie Camera using a tap but once Clie Camera is up and running, the capture button works for Clie Camera and not for the assigned button remapped by Map BUtton. Here is another application I saw at the UX thread, I had not tried it so it is up to you to test it out. The application description seems to explain some additional functions for the 4th hard button of the TH55:
