Does the TG50 come with software to do this? I'm a newbie and am quite intrigued about converting mpg's for use on my TG50. This would be the killer app for me. Any help doing this and what it takes would be appreciated. Thanks!

For regularly encoded MPGs, you just need to drop it in the same program (i.e., image converter) that you use to transfer your JPEGs from your desktop, and it does the conversion for you. Not sure about DivX et al as I haven't tried myself. In the movie viewer, you can select to view 'MPEG movies', so I am thinking that you may be able to copy your MPGs to your memory stick as it is. You just need to drop them in the right directory.

I just started doing this last night. What you want to do is go to downloads.com and download Honestech MPEG Encoder. This is the only one that worked for me. This will change your dixv file to mpeg so you can use the image converter to put the mpegs on your clie. The Encoder is only a demo so after you download it you have to go to astalavista.com and download a crack so you can keep using it

The Image Converter seems to handle Divx 5 files fine, but the audio has to be in a uncompressed format (not the MP3 format that it is typically in). I use Virtual Dub for this since it is free and works good.

For the MPEG files, they should work in their native format if you stick them in /MSSONY/MOML0001/ and as long as they are named like MOV0****.MPG where the * is any number. Some movies might not work that great though.
