I dumped some video from my TRV350 camcorder [which has a MS slot and is MS Pro compatible out of the box] onto my 256 MS Pro and it plays just fine, unlike the video and audio I'd tried before.
As a word of warning, I tried the voice recorder this morning and not only did it not work it caused a hard reset.
How much sense does it make to put out a new memory stick without an available driver??

They rely on people who buy the products without actually working with their devices...it gives them plenty of time to develop the drivers. If they waited till the drivers are released it may be christmas before the Pro's would come out.

As the MS Pro is also intended for other devices, the Clies are probably a secondary option.
I'm sure Sony has the driver for the MS Pro but they are not releasing it yet for some reason. It would seem like they would release the driver as soon as possible so they can sell more MS Pro sticks. But why not release it yet? Maybe Sony likes making people wait just because they can. Or maybe they have a sh*t load of regular sticks that they want to sell first. Or could it be that the driver makes resources available that would allow the CF slot to be used for memory?
I think the real reason is the manufacturing process has not been perfected for the MS Pro, resulting in a high number of defects. Therefore Sony wants to reserve the limited number of MS Pro Sticks that are available for the other new high dollar products they are selling that use the Pro format. We have already bought the product that can "accept the MS Pro with a software patch" but not the new products that already use the MS Pro. So if you actually want to use a MS Pro, buy a new Handycam, Cyber-Shot, Wega plasma TV and a CINEZA projector.

I read the advice and still did it! I made fresh backups to the stick and pc, but I had to see for myself what worked and what didn't. At least I know it's not just me. Restored and all is fine.

Where did you buy your 256 stick... it is a pro and not a duo correct?

I got mine at Fry's, but Page Computers (http://www.pagecomputers.com) has [or did last week] pretty decent prices on them, both SanDisk and Sony. They're close to me so I may pop in and check them out, maybe walking out with a 512 stick ;)
Yes, mine is a Pro, not a Duo.

I tried voice recorder with my NX70 (256MS Pro ) and it works.
Video recorder , playing movie... all these work too.
However, a problem: every time i open a video / audio, it can't play . Then i have to fast forward to some points of the clip to make it continously playing.

You need the MS Pro driver! The Japanese vesrion is out, but it's only for the Asian models.
