This program is completely separate from Image Converter and Sony Clies. It converts files on your computer into Divx files that you can format for the handhelds. To use these files on a Palm handheld, you will need MMplayer. I recommend that you do not buy this conversion app because there is a free alternative UnLoGiC Movie Converter (http://unlogic.no-ip.biz/umc/), that outputs to XVid, I believe, and should work just as well. As for players, MMPlayer (mmplayer.com) is top notch, and is just now exiting its very long beta stage and moving into a release candidate.

thanks jf, so pocketDVD is only a video format converter.. i have enough experience with video (my job is graphic design and often involved video prod) but none on video on clie.
i have several video converter and plenty of codecs -also divx- so is not a prob to convert movie in dvix.. will study the process to make them viewable on a clie.

thanks again for your infos, very appreciated.
regards

PocketDVD Studio outputs an .avi file that is easily handled and directly converted by Sony's Image Converter 1.5 for play on my NX80, with the standard Clie Movie Player. The resulting picture and audio quality is very acceptable indeed!

I use Pocket DVD studio. The output files play directly on my TH-55 using TCPMP and they look great. You can download a trial version and try it for yourself before you buy it. Its very easy to use and it will convert most file types, not just DVD's. http://www.pqdvd.com/

Agree with Looney, TCPMP is the way to go, as it eliminates one conversion. Plays beautifully, full screen on my NX80. Not sure yet if power consumption is worse than with the Sony player though...Anybody knows?

well, since TCPMP finally uses the HHE (it does now, right?), it should be the same battery consumption as the Sony Movie Player. I don't think the NX80 has the HHE processor though, so I think TCPMP may eat more battery than the movie player, but don't take my word for it. You'll have to test it yourself
