Just bought a 665 off eBay to replace my 415 which the GF constantly uses and takes to work to read the Bible on. Nice having 16 different Bible versions to choose from on one little handheld. Anyway, I would like to keep the 665 ON while in the cradle. I have selected the check box in the prefs, but it does not honor it. Any ideas? I am using Silverscreen.

Try a soft reset. If that doesn't work, then disable all hacks, soft reset, and try again. If it works, then add the hacks back one-by-one until the problem recurrs, then toss the offending hack.

another thing to remember is that the cradle HAS to be hooked up to the power supply. otherwise it serves as just a simple connection to your pc. i do this all the time, actually - just use the cradel for synching, but charge it on my coffee table closer to the couch. unless the cradle itself is powered, you won't get the pda to stay on.

if you use security there is a program on palm gear that allows your "palm" to stay on with security settings in place still.

I fix it by adding 2 freeware apps: 'CradleSnd' and 'AlwaysOn'. CradleSnd is set to enable and launch AlwaysOn. So when I put the Clie onto the cradle it beebs and automatically launch AlwaysOn which then automatically pops up Auto-off timer window with 'Always On' highlighted. Then I just tap OK twice. When I remove it off the cradle, the auto-off timer setting will default back to 2 minutes.

This is a great place! I just happen to run the Mac eList, an email forum for Mac users. I thought we had a monopoly on fast friendly forums. Obviously NOT! ClieSource is great!

The problem with the T665 not staying on was because of the 15 minute security lock I had on.
