Not surprised... I was one of the first people to say that Longhorn by 2006 was too quick. Time for Jack to comment that MS can't keep up with Apple... hehehe (speaking of which, they mention market competition from all sides in the article)

There is no way that Microsoft could push Longhorn back any more. Our main distributor (D & H) already has firm commitments with many, many large customers for a Q1 2006 ship date. If they do this, they will get sued to death by companies who were not only lied to but basing business off of Longhorn.

Not unheard of for microsoft... however, microsoft did say, when they announced their war on security breakins, that they would make XP secure and Longhorn even if it meant pushing back delivery. So everyone was kind of warned.... and even the government gives up on suits against MS.... :)
