I am just starting to use my first memory stick with my SJ30. I am trying various launchers and software to run apps and databases from MS. At the moment I am using ZLauncher + MSmount to move large databases to MS.
Everything went well when I moved some games and NoahLite to MS. However, I am having troubles with ISilo (free version) and ISilo documents.
When I try to move a document to MS, it appears that the document is actually copied (i.e. a copy still appears to be in RAM). If I delete what remains in RAM - ISilo can't read it anymore and sometimes I get a fatal error. I tried putting ISilo databases in various folders but the problem still remains. Does it mean that ISilo free version doesn't support VFS even with MSmount? Would it work with other software like PowerRun or PiDirect? Or am I doing something wrong?
Also when I move databases to MS with MSmount do I have to use the same folder for all databases or can MSmount handle multiple MS folders?
I started with MSmount because (1) it's free, (2) I don't see myself using big editable databases and (3) according to tanker_bob's site it should work faster than PowerRun...

Sorry I can't help with the ISilo stuff, but I use MSMount on my T665 with no problems. MSMount (and PIDirect II) handle read-only databases from the memory stick by making some of the memory stick look like RAM. They do not load the entire database back into RAM before using it. You do, however, need spare RAM to load what is needed. MSMount needs it's own directory, so you can't have multiples, nor one of your own choosing.

PowerRun handles read-wriet but moves everything back into RAM before letting you start to work. Then it moves everything back to the MS after.

I use MSMount with Noah Lite's full dictionary (5 meg) as well as the USDA food database. Works like a charm. A bit slower than running from RAM, but not too bad.

Don't forget to disable anything that looks at RAM in MSMount, like file managers, launchers, and backup utilities. Otherwise they may think that you have those MSMount databases in actual RAM and get confused.
