In almost every single post, you say you hate netfront.
I want to hear the story, lol.
So, why do you hate netfront?

.......oh, hear we go again.....
break out the soapbox and gather round folks as we prepare to hear Brother Larry preach the truth of the pure evil app, NetFront!!! :D
Cheers, Rich
* Seriously, Larry is a nice guy just a bit misguided in his opinion of a certain browser...

It has become sort of an inside joke about my strong dislike for that unmentionable application that tries to surf the web :D
I'll explain more later...
I don't want to overtax Rich all in one evening ;).

I don't think it is just inside anymore. Probably all 18665 registered members know you hate NF and think Sony is a greedy rip-off company, lol.

I knew he hated netfront from my first day here. After reading about 50 different threads when I first got my NX, I knew he hated netfront, among other things. People outside of Cliesource know he hates it..
NYC cab drivers drive like crazy...almost everyone knows that... MORE PEOPLE know about his disdain for netfront!!!! :D

I would really hate Netfront if my intension was to access ClieSource ONLY. But the Internet is not only ClieSource. There are other pages that are smaller and have less graphics and frames than ClieSource. It is kind of ironic the fact that ClieSource, which is PDA-Oriented is 0% PDA browser friendly. Have you tried BrightHand with NetFront? It loads just fine. I would say use your judgment when surfing with your Clie. If you want ClieSource to read and reply then go with Blazer. PocketLink is good for reading cliesource but not for creating new threads. If you want to view pages really fast and don't care about formats or graphics then go with WebPro.
I use Blazer most of the time, but NetFront when I know I will be browsing a page with light graphics and I might need to download something. Also, SEE THAT NETFRONT IS THE ONLY BROWSER THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DOWNLOAD FILES. I hardly use PocketLink because it crashes often for no reason.
Make your choice,
Al

You quack me up ;0. The one man campaign against Net Front. I wonder if it has gotten all the way back to the developers. Now wouldn't that be a hoot?

My Name is Francis Miller and I was a netfont user. It started with occaisional use, to fill in all my spare time, then before I knew it, my wife had left me and the kids well, (sob) (sob) it has really ruined me,
If it weren't for n2ifp coming out about his hatred with netfont who knows where would have ended up. I only wish I had returned that WiFi earlier before it all got so out of control.
I would go to starbucks
(for lack of wireless access anywhere else) only to find out that netfont had crashed again. I had to reinstall Netfont. Netfont just the name makes me tremble. Then I drive home and and rienstall Netfont only to start the cycle again. you see the problem. If I had only started with webprov I might not be in the trouble I am today. I only want to say honey if your out there and reading this I love you and I miss the KIds, I have been clean for two weeks now and I want to start over, Please I promise no more Net Font. Francis

It's the call sign of my radio license. It identifies country and region with the prefix.
For example: USA would start with: A, K, N, or W, then the number indicates the region, so region 2 would the USA Northeast.
Germany would have a prefix of: DL
Canada would have a prefix of: VE
Japan is: JA
Jordan is: JY, the former King of Jordan was known as JY1 and was very active on the airways. He used to invite amateur(ham) radio operators from around the world to operate the radio station in his palace.
Ham radio is a viable part of the International Space Station, it's a worldwide fraternitiy. If another ham knows my call, he immediately knows how to email me too. Hams also have satellites to operate through, the list very long. I hope it gives you a little better understanding and it's not just an American thing :).

My browsing needs are fairly simple. PLink works fine now and I just upgraded to version 2.55a and so far is stable for me. Someday maybe we'll have a nice landscape browser that works without a lot of hassle. When I used Pocket IE on my HPC, HP LX620, it worked very nicely, but it was slow with dialup modem.

Bclie2k,
I hate to ask a question in the middle of Larry's thread (JK, Larry! :D ) but how can you download files using Netfront? I tried and it just locked it up. Do you need some sort of additional software on the Clie?
Just curious.....

Profvisor, you can download anyfile that is not zipped without any problem. I recently downloaded some .swf's (flash files) and Netfront even placed them in the right directory. Jpg's can be downloaded/saved by a tap and hold on the pic. PRC's can also be downloaded directly, though most of the app sites have them zipped now. There is also a zip utility call Handyzipper which you can buy which allows you to download and unzip on your Palm.
I don't download much on the NZ, but it's handy if your watching TV and don't want to get up!!!
