I just wonder if it is legal to use NetFront (or other software) from Sony device on non-Sony devices?

I just wonder if it is legal to use NetFront (or other software) from Sony device on non-Sony devices?Well, if you consider that Palm is a Netfront liscensee, then it may be legal for their devices. Either way, they dont really care, because T3 and T5 users really are not going to buy another browser regardless, and for people with 320 by 320 screens, the installed browser is usually fine for what they need.

AFAIK ACCESS licensed NetFront _engine_ (not a full browser!) for the Treo 650 only:

That does not mean T|T3 users are allowed to copy NetFront from TH55.

Obviously, they _do_ care. NetFront from TH55 explicitly checks the device manufacturer ID.

And what about Picsel Viewer? Other Sony apps?

That does not mean T|T3 users are allowed to copy NetFront from TH55.The same for the T5, and they have it fully liscensed for Cobalt. Im just saying they are a large liscensee, not that its necessarily right. For a T5 user, it might be legal, because though you say "core", they do mainly use that browser, with a different interface.

I'll be the one to say it:
Interesting how we still want to run like the Clies, even though they're doomed! LOL

NetFront IS an absoulutely killer browser so I can't blame them one bit there!
Clie Organizer would probably be very happy running on a device with a bit more horsepower under the hood, however. (Not that I'm a fan.)

Just remember, P1 told you that you don't want that stuff! :)

Is NetFront better than the Blazer 4.0 browser on the T5?

Well, I don't really enjoy NetFront for now. It is indeed fast, but makes a lot of rendering problems. I will give you a detailled review of my oppinions on TamsPalm soon!

I could really care less if its legal or not. typical sony to proprieterise there software so no one else can run it. thats what really annoys me about sony they make such great stuff and always finds ways to sour the experience (I'm a hard core minidisc user)

also so long as he does not use sony code or distribute sony code he is not breaking the law and neither are you (though RUNNING the actual sony program may be a violation)

Again who cares

Hey, Tam Hanna - thanks! Even though I can't use this program because I have a Zodiac, good work!

Anyway, are you going to update this so it is compatible with the Zods? Thanks!

TAPWAVE DOES NOT REACT TO ME ASKING ABOUT WHAT TO DO TO SIGN!
I HAVE ENOUGH OF THEM FOR NOW....
Sorry, but that had to get out of my tortured mind. Nobody can be reached, nobody reacts to emails over there.... . Anyone knows what to do?

just don't give up. we all are looking forward for your appl. is just that people are at times shy to post.

Hi,
I will definitely attempt to get TapWave to sign the thing. And BTW, the successor of both programs is coming real fast(see in a few weeks or months, but for a small fee)!
