fontbucket (http://www.handshigh.com/fontbucket/) will allow you to covert any desktop fonts.

Again, the PalmGear query trick to the rescue!!
I queried "italic" on PalmGear and got this as a hit: CMF Font Editor 1.0.4 (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&PartnerREF=&siteid=1&prodID=44575). Where I haven't tried this, I might just because it looks interesting.
SMEGGIE :D

You want FontSmoother. :-) www.zlthemes.com/Programs.php . Get one of the "italbold" packages which substitutes italics for bold. If you use Fonts4OS5 with it, you can make the italics show up instead of roman, too.
FontSmoother does antialiased fonts. Without antialiasing, italics tend to look bad.

No offense, but sometimes they look bad anyway. Some programs try to make AA fonts italicized, but it always turns out bad. On the up side Pruss, I have recently noticed, with my new Mac, that it has about as many AA bugs as FontSmoother. It does that bad lines in between letters after highlighting, and a few other things. If you can fix that problem completely, you will be ahead of apple.
