So I finally registered to ask this one so you know it's important :)

I just bought one of the neat GC10 game controllers (as well as a TG50, woohoo!) and I've read elsewhere on this forum that I should install the newest Sony drivers for it. Unfortunately the drivers from Sony are .exe files. I managed to pull the files out of that exe, but there's still a stupid windows installer it wants to run.

It looks like the actual files are in a couple of .cab files, but when I installed "cabextractor" for OSX, it claims the files aren't valid. So does anybody know how I can crack these open or would a kind soul post the files I need to install? If anybody wants to have at it, the installer with .cab files is online at:

Thanks very much.

i don't know anything about the game controller, but i used to own a Clie Keyboard from sony. The CD that came with it had some executables on it, but the only important part were the drivers in the form of *.pdb files. Just pull those from the CD and install. Again, this was for the keyboard (and WL100 as well).

Ya, but I need the updated .pdb files, not the ones on the CD. Unfortunately the updated files are packaged up in the download Sony offers so I can't just pull them out. If anybody with windows has installed the controller, I'm sure they have the files sitting in their backup folder, but maybe there's another way to get to them.

try PocketMac, a program which has as one of its modules: Cab Extractor http://www.pocketmac.net/cabextractor.htm This program works with a PocketPC to Mac via conduits, etc. Ask the developer if the cab extractor module will work independent of platform i.e. Palm vs. PPC, good luck.
