Hi, i own a Palm Tungsten T3 and an Universal Wireless Keyboard, also from Palm. It works perfectly in all applications i've got installed. No more than a few days after installing the keyboard software, i couldn't tell why, but my T3 stopped responding, even to a hard reset, showing nothing but a white screen.
Called Palm Customer Service (PCS) for help, because even my PC would not recognise the USB device as my T3 was sitting in it's craddle. Tried a couple more resets suggested by the Palm's technician, it ended up in my first Service Repair Order (SRO). My T3 was dead and I had to send it over at Palm repair facileties. They had to replace it. It took three (3) weeks before i got it back, looking like a brand new. That reliefed me because the screen was starting to show a lot of scratches, especially on the Graffiti area...
Still there was no note or comment in the package, explaining what happened. So what could have been avoided happened...
As i was doing maintenence in my T3, i noticed an application related to the keyboard, and tapped on it. Guess what happened... dead again. But that time i knew what caused it. So i call back PCS to ask if there was an issue concerning the keyboard software on a T3. And yes there was... so they asked me to send my T3 for a replacement, and i was good for another three (3) weeks without it.
Hopefully they had released a new version of the keyboard software by the time i got back my T3. Taking extra care not to get back in trouble again, i started a clean installation of all the applications on my T3. Now it going perfectly, on the software side at least.
There lack in quality control costed them two (2) T3 devices... and a lot of my time and satisfaction.
p.s. Feel free to comment, or contact me wasorar@hotmail.com
