BtToggle 1.5 (http://www.petereaston.com/apps/bttoggle.php) allows you to easily turn Bluetooth on and off without perpetually going into Prefs. It can also automatically enable it when you launch specific apps and disable it when you leave them.
It works fine on a TG50, with one exception. The irritatingly bright LED still blinks even after BtToggle has disabled Bluetooth. I talked to the developer and he's working on this.

Thanks Ed for letting me know that it was compatible over at brighthand and spreading it over here. It works great and saves a lot of uneccesarily lost batt life. :D

Ed -
True - I tried this latest version, and found the light still on, but that BT was actually off inside the prefs...not sure how much battery it takes to operate that annoying bright blue light...
The developer said he's waiting on his Sony device to arrive so he can work on this...
Going into the prefs and looking at the bluetooth, and then exiting prefs turns the light back off...

Right, this is my experience too. But I really hate that LED. It is actually a bigger issue to me than the battery drain from Bluetooth. I'm rarely away from my cradle more than a day or two so battery has never been an issue with me but I frequently use the TG50 in low-light and that LED makes me nuts. So if I turn Bluetooth off, its almost always just to turn the LED off so I can read without irritation.
I suggested to the developer of BtToggle he add an option to permanently supress the Bluetooth light. Or maybe have it blnk once every 30 seconds or something.

I'd want the BT light to light up constantly. I wouldn't want it to flash, because that draws attention to the device.

Peter has released a beta version of BtToggle that fixes the LED problem:

This beta is ONLY for the TG50. A non-beta version is expected in a few weeks.
I loaded it and have had no problems so far.

I'd simply like the BT to turn on by holding the Graffitti button down for maybe 6 seconds. I'm always using drangntooth, so it makes no sense for me to turn on the bluetooth in a specific app.
