Just upgraded from Palm Wireless Keyboard to Palm UNIVERSAL Wireless Keyboard, for use with my T3.
I deleted the old keyboard drivers first.
Installed all three drivers for the T3.
Keyboard works fine, but every time I tap on the Keyboard icon on the screen to change properties or something, I get a Fatal Exception.
I've tried deleting everything keyboard-related and reinstalling; removing the three drivers from my backup folder, etc. No luck.
The only thing I haven't tried is a hard reset. I don't want to go there, but I think that's next.

Being a glutton for punishment, I tried a hard reset. It didn't help.

First disable the driver you are currently using. Then, delete the keyboard driver throught the standard delete utility within the launcher. I would soft reset just to be sure it has been removed. Then, I would download and install the latest driver from PalmOne. You should perform a soft reset after installation or prompt for one.
Latest Drivers for Keyboard (http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/universal_wireless_keyboard.html#palmos)
Good luck,

Good suggestions, Lance. Here's my issue: Can you tell me how to disable the driver without first tapping on its icon? Because every time I simply tap the "Keyboard" icon, I get a fatal error.
It's funny you should mention disabling it before I delete it. Sometimes I have deleted it, done a soft reset, and FOUND THE DAD-GUM THING BACK ON MY LAUNCHER SCREEN! Wassup with that??!?

Okay, you will need to do a warm reset. Note: Hold down 5-way navigator in the UP direction while hitting the reset. Keep holding in the UP direction until finished restarting. Now try to delete the keyboard application. Then, perform a normal soft reset.
Take care,
Lance

Hi Steve, I guess your trouble the keyboard is not fixed yet. I have run trough the same problem already. Have you done other updates from PalmOne like Versamail, WebPro, PhoneLink or Security? Thrust me, one of those might cause the problem! I'm currently working on it with a bunch of people at PalmOne. I let you know I get more.

Wasorar, I finally went into the Palm backup folder for my user name:
C:\Program Files\Palm\Steve\Backup
Here, I deleted the backup files for the keyboard (and the files that permit the T3 to turn "landscape"). Then I did a hard reset and a sync. Then I re-installed the drivers and they worked.
THEN, a key cap came off the new keyboard. I shipped it back to PalmOne. They have had it for 13 days now, and have NOT SHIPPED MY RELPLACEMENT KEYBOARD! I call, and get friendly customer service reps who can only tell me that, yes, they recieved the keyboard, and no, my replacement hasn't shipped, yet.
I think I'll try a HP handheld next time....
