Hmmm...I don't know what port it uses...but I'm sure you can find out what applications are using particular ports and try switching those around. I don't think you can change anything on the device side.

You might want to go into the control panel on your computer and go into your bluetooth devices. Once there go to to 'Com Ports' tab. There will show all your com ports for your bluetooth devices. You can also create new ports. I'd suggest adding a new incoming port. Once done it'll give you a new port number.
Now go into the setup for your hotsync manager. Go to the 'local' tab and select the port number you just made.
That should do it. I had the same problem a while ago.

I get the same error, albeit very infrequently. As the non-techie UX50 contributor, I simply retry, or shutdow/restart the PC. This random set of activities, for some reason, seems to correct the error (at least for me).
Are you able to connect at all ?

You may not even have to do that. First check to see if the com ports are the same for both the HotSync manager and your bluetooth software
HotSync
right-click the icon>"Setup">"Local"
Bluetooth
With my Belkin one, you can either right-click the icon>"Advanced Configuration">"Services" tab, or double-click the icon, your device, and then the "HotSync" icon.
I usually just leave mine on com port 5 and it works just fine.
I also get that message when the bluetooth software (again, for Belkin: BTtray & BTstackserver (I think)) hadn't loaded correctly. Even with all of that setup correctly, I may still get the error on the first (and sometimes even 2nd & 3rd) attempt to connect just because my computer was too slow to react.

I got it working too, but it's taking FOREVER to complete the hotsync, compared tot the USB cable. (19 mins).
I have KeySuite and Documents to Go, but Clie Org. Freenotes takes up the most time.

Skaah, make sure that you have speed set to maximum (115,200bps) on your pda. I don't actually know if this has made any difference (I haven't bottered to check if both sides are capable), but I've never had any problems with this so...it couldn't hurt.
I have Docs to Go, Earthcomber, Due Yesterday, and Tracker Dog, but I only have dial-up so Earthcomb. and TrackD. usually don't do anything and I only hotsync a couple documents. So, all-in-all, it usually only takes a few minutes.
