I have an NX70V running that standard Palm OS 5. I just installed a Hagiwara Wireless LAN Memory Stick. I got past the WL100 software problem, and now when I try to connect to my wireless network, I get:

FATAL ERROR: MemoryMgr.c, line:3564 NULL handle

Then it says to reset, but the touch screen doesn't work and I have to do a manual soft reset from the back of the unit.

I am not a programmer so this is mumbo-jumbo to me... Has anybody else encountered this problem and fixed it?

My question is, what's the WL100 got to do with it? Need more info on that please! :D

The Clie WL100 updates are not compatible with the Hagiwara drivers (they conflict) so they must be deleted via a hard reset. That seems to be the problem I see a lot of people having, but I keep getting a fatal error and I haven't foundd much on it and I have no idea how to fix it.

So you tried a hard reset and then immediately tried the wifi MS? I would do that before I loaded ANY programs whatsoever. Just load the driver for the stick, configure it, and see if it works. That will help eliminate any possibility of another program causing the problems.

I have also contacted the Hagiwara customer support, and they said for me to return the item because it is somehow defective.

It's weird, because I am able to do the AP search and find my router, I can set up the network (that has MAC address finltering and a 128-bit hex encryption code), it verifies my encryption code, the router gives my pda an ip address (according to the control) but I cannot connect ot the internet.

This must be a software problem, but Hagiwara said to return the unit. I really don't think that would solve the issue, but what else can I do? I might as well try...

I've tried to take out all other 3rd party programs on there (my folding keyboard, for instance) but I am having trouble doing it all because I installed the Pelaca CF Utility - could this be the problem? I figured it would be about $150 cheaper to get a compact flash memory card and the memory stick wireless adapter...

I haven't had trouble with the CF card, but I am obviously having wireless problems.

I think I am also going to try accessing a different AP or router just to make sure the problem is on my PDA and not my router.

So complicated.

I humbly apologize if this has been covered before, but I searched the forums to no avail. I just bought and installed the Hagiwara WI-FI card. However, when I tap on the application icon on my NX70V, it says that it's "unable to run this application. Compact Flash Wireless LAN Card driver is installed." I deleted as many CFWL files as I could through Clie Files, but am stymied about what else to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry to bring this back but it really needs to be resolved. I'm having the same problem on my TJ35. When I first got my card it was fine and I used it a lot. Then I didn't for about a month and now the card only works about 10% of the time. Either it is very fragile or the software is horrible.

Hi Folks!

I'm using the Hagiwara MS WLAN for nearly 2 months now on a Sony Clie NX70V and enabled CF Hack.

The MS Wlan Util works to 50% - that means no crashes as described above, but connections need sometimes more than 2 tries to get online. I expected a big difference between connecting to access points (works nearly every time without probs) and WLAN USB sticks (which works only with many tries for each connection).

To use the MS WLAN Util in a stable way, I had to do a hard reset and reinstall all my apps and updates - since then I can work with the WLAN MS nearly without crashes (ok, I excpected some crashes of NetFront together with the Landscape hack).

Here my working installation:
+ Pelaca's hacked CF drivers
+ Sony MSB1 bluetooth (new version)
+ HagiWara WLAN Util 1.1.0 (got from http://www.sonyclie.org)
+ NetFront 3.06
+ Landscape tool
+ JackFlash
and so on...

My tip is to do a hard reset, reinstall all needed updates (and NO SOFTWARE FOR SONY WL100/WL110!!!) and just enjoy wlan surfing ;)

Ehm... sometimes a soft reset can help, if the wlan connection doesn't get established after many tries.

regards,
Chris

I've tried a hard reset and moved the archived files so the hotsync manager wouldn't reinstall anything. I only installed the WLAN Utility and Netfront 3.1. Same problems. The utililty would freeze most of the time. I also found out that if delete HNTMSW_neti, the program will never freeze, but the card will never work.

I also installed the General Patch Extension. I could try w/o the patch extension and see if it works.

I'm guessing TJ users are having more of a problem.
