hi,

is there any way how could be possible beamed any the non-palm file (jpg, mov, mpg, doc, xls ..) from one palm device to another ?
e.g. my collegue has got a palm tungsten with SD where he has got some documents, which i also need.
since the cards are not interexchangable, the only way seems to be beaming the files .. but due to limitation of palmos file system used for ram (as a heritage of dragonball) it's not possible ..

so the question is, is there any application out that allows this ? or maybe beaming any file from one palm/pda (that includes pocketpc) to another pda from memory card ?

thanks in advance for any hints

i did try to beam a *.bmp file from my cellphone to my clie once, but of course to no avail.

Unless there is such an app out there, the only way i can think of is to transfer your friend's files to a pc and msimport it to your ms.

If the receiving handheld has McFile installed and it's open when you start the beam, it will ask you if you want to save the file directly to external memory, so you can use this to beam non-Palm files. Not sure if ClieFiles (which is like McFile lite) has this capability or not, but may be worth a try if you don't already own McFile.

ExBox (http://www.weirdwww.com/ExBox/) seems capable to do this, as mentioned by RD100 in another thread. The developer seems to be working on beaming files from external cards too

I use CFZap to beam non-palm files to my Clie. When I beam a jpg from my camera phone, or a doc from my laptop, CFZap running on my Clie intercepts the file and redirects it to the memory stick instead of local ram. Works like a champ. There's more details in this thread:
