NX70V - No Sound?!?!?

Someone please help me here. I have no sound on my NX70V!

I have verified that the sound is NOT muted.

I tapped on the little speaker icon, and saw that Audio, System, Alarm, and Game volumes are all set to MAX.

Going to preferences->General, I see that System, Alarm Sound, and Game Sound are all set to "High".

If I go to the "Sound Utility" (for example), I can tap on any alarm, and hit play, and I hear absolutely NOTHING.

Is there some magic thing I need to do?

Just a quick note to mention that the sound DOES work through the headphones. Just not through the speaker.

Umm, sounds like a bad speaker to me. Maybe that's why it was only $125. :confused:

did you try doing a soft reset? Sometimes that has been known to clear up a sound problem on the nx70.

I did try a soft reset, and it didn't help any. :(

I am gonna try to take it apart and see if I can fix the speaker (or replace it).

Take that bad boy back to CompUSA and get a new one off Ebay for a few more bucks. Who knows what else happened to it during it's life as a floor model...

The speaker was fine. I was able to hook other leads up to it and drive the speaker just fine from another source.

I went ahead and exchanged it for a T5.

Ahhh! He's gone to the dark side! Should have gone with an NX80! :D
