PSP hidden web browser

looks like we already have a web browser built in. I know that a beta firmware upgrade included a browser,email,word processing. THis is great, reminds me of my clie days, when users would come up with ways to get things to work now. I think the psp is the new clie.

has anyone tried this?

it was so easy to do, i was all nervous that i was gonna have to learn to set up my own dns server but this guy has done that, so all i did was get my network working, and then copy all but the primary dns server and replace that with 67.171.70.72

lol, I am just blown away that this is working. No you use the x o square and triangle buttons to navigate. To enter text you use the text input that the psp uses, it's basically the same as a cell phone. I took a few more pics and will post them.

yeah, I know. It was taken with a treo 650. It's not even 1 megapixels, I just wanted to give u guys and idea of whats going on in the sony community. THis really reminds me of my clie days, back when this site was cliesource. All the work that went on to bring things to our clie's that weren't included, but someone on here would figure it out, and post how to. It's nice to reminisce.

k.......................advertizement...............not cool...............but yeah, i love surfing on my psp, can you believe it, 8 days after launch and its getting spread that a game can do what it wasn't intended too, now thats pure NERD right there, its so awesome

Glorified cell-phone browsing doesn't sound very appealing to me. We all have PALM devices with touch screens and even higher rez screens in some cases, so I'm a bit confused about why one would want to do this on a PSP? I guess it's a NERD thing? :)

well for one thing its wide screen and you can view real pages instead of mobile pages like on a cell phone, and less scrolling from side to side like on a pda, you can actually fit the word google on the psp's screen, i like that

I only call it a glorified cell phone because of how text is put into thing thing, which is like a cellphone. The rez is, errrr OK for cramped web browsing, nothing to go whoooo hooo about. But as JAmerican can attest, his screen is also 480 wide, but 320 tall and he has a "built-in" keyboard and touch screen for web browsing.

And how extensive is its browser? Meaning, can you actually watch video through the internal browswer, or veiw Flash content? Or is is the typical text browser with HTML 1.0, or something? :)

i wouldn't expect much out of the psp webrowser, its more of a coolness factor.......they didn't even mean for it to be known.........maybe not yet

If a future browswer for the PSP can handle at least Flash player 7, then I'll go out and buy my PSP the very same day it is made available. :) Flash Player 8 support would make me weak in the knees and I would praise the PSP in my sig. :)

i have a ux and the psp screen is way bigger, you got me with the touchscreen aspect but still. This is way bigger news that the th getting portrait!!!!!

I think we should all wait for the actual real web browser to be released instead of speculating or making opinions on a browser that really wasn't meant for full fledged web surfing.
