I finally purchased a new Logitech MX1000 laser guided mouse. It is charging as I type this message with my little monkey fingers.

Soon I will be able to click on the Start button faster and more acurately than ever. :)

Sweet. :D Good deal.

Mine is chugging along just fine. It's by far the best mouse on the market.

I need to figure out how to read that value in windows... :) so I can put it in my software. :D

I still love my 3 years old MX700! Only the feets have to be fixed with glue. But its still fine.
The german hardware mags said, that the Laser is not as good as the IR sensor. The are problems on glas and some colored surfaces

Alll lies!!! :D I have a MX700 on my other Mac and it is truly an awesome mouse. Absolutely the best LED mouse on the market. But the MX1000 manages to out due it in all areas. I personaly wouldn't run any of my mice on glass, but this MX1000 is more precise, just enough to notice it. It has yet to skip a beat and right now I'm working away on a multi-colored Sponge Bob Mouse pad. :)

For my hand the MX100 also feels much nicer. Its button placement is a bit better, especially for the thumb. And more importanty the battery life is great. I can usually go about 36 hours without charging, where as my MX700 only lasts about 12 hours on a good charge. I often work 12+ hour days, so that was an annoyance.

My MX700 feet have come off a few times also. I'm missing the one next to then sensor. :)

Don't belive the lies, but if you ever need another mouse, get a MX1000. Just don't try using them at the same time, it doesn't work. :D

not exactly true.... an optical mouse will pick up on glass, but behave eratically, since it is picking up wider reflections of the flaws in the glass. A well made piece of glass of pure material will not work with even an optical mouse. Both work on the same principal, pick up details of the surface moving in front of the "light" so the better the glass the less detail to pick up from the surface. Optical mice are wider in sensor, laser is finer. Both react to different colors, so that is unfair comparison. Laser reacts to fewer shades since it can pick up very subtle differences in the threads that optical mice can't.

Ask anyone with optical mice what happens if there is a red spot in the image on their mousepad? The mouse will "skip" as it crosses the red spot. but the laser can pick up subtle thread differences that the optical can't and plow right across it.

All in all the laser mouse is simply a more accurate and faster more powerful optical mouse. :) it is just a stronger optical mouse, but that is a good thing. :) and I don't need to use it on glass. :)

My MX-1000 is replacing my MX_700, which I will use on my laptop, which had an M-RM63. (Anybody still using one of those?)

Fortunately I don't have a glass desktop. :D

No, but I wish I had one of those!

Actually the M-RM63 is the original Cordless MouseMan Optical. That model number is from the bottom of the mouse.

Want to know the REAL model number of the MX1000? It's M-RAG97. (Look on the bottom.)

Arrr. This could be are Pirate thread disguised as a tech thread. All we need to do is throw in the word MX1000 every once and a while and all will be scurvylicious. :)

Aye. Yar in the same boat as me friend. He would also like a corded version. He was one of the unlucky peeps that ran into Wi-Fi interference, so had to return his MX1000.

But if ye don't have the above issue(Which is rare.), then the MX1000 is great. No cord is the only way to go for me. But if it didn't have a charge base, then I would still be using a corded mouse. My friends average over a week on one charge. :)

I recently bought another MX1000 (because, you know, you can't just have one) and this one had a different AC adapter! It wasn't the funky nonstandard sideways one like my first one, but a normal wall wart form factor thing. It's still a small adapter, but it's nice to know that Logitech listened to some people about that.

JackAxe

Does one MX1000 every interfere with the other? I've had my MX700 and MX1000 interfering more recently, but it might just be a fluke.

I think they will interfere if you don't reset one.

JackAxe

About once every 2 weeks, if my G4 is asleep, after I wake it up the MX700 will lock onto my MX1000, or vice versa and then I'll need to hit the connect button.

hey. I mean, arr.

Picked up a Logitech Mobile Freedom BT headset for dirt cheap at Microcenter clearance (yesterday was buy one clearance item, get another at half the clearance price!)

Anyway, it didn't come with its charger. So I'll be SOL once it dies. The question is, does Logitech make a charger that is interchangeable between their products? I'd like to purchase a BT mouse, and use the charger for both the mouse and the headset. I'll post a pic of the headset's charger interface momentarily.

Be, arrrrr, must. I'm trying to do a Yoda Pirate. :o

Not sure. My 700 and 1000 use different charger bases. I was reading that your BT headset uses an AC power adapter. I haven't seen one up close, but maybe Radio Shack has a compatible one? Or does yours recharge wirelessly?

I'll definately check it out when I finally get my new phone. :)

Be one there must. Agree I do.

don't know about the wireless recharging (don't even know how that's possible!)

but it does have an AC power adapter that comes with it (mine didn't because it was a clearance dealy). There IS a car charger available, which may be the only solution for me, but then that means having two chargers in the car that I'd have to swap, one for the headset and one for the phone. Plus I'm loathe to use one of those car adapter splitters.

re: radio shack. If you were thinking something like a generic adapter, I don't think so. Proprietary that little hole (see pic) seems.

JackAxe

Solution asked, answer found shall. :) blah, I suck a this.

I would say get the car charger and a "AC to DC 4-Amp Power Converter." This really isn't cheap though at about $40, but if you can't get an AC replacement through Logitech, it might be your only option of charging at home.

http://www.cetsolar.com/cigplugs.htm

They do sell universal AC adpaters, with really tiny nibs. It's worth checking out. They have some listed on the above link.
