Yes. Virtual Graffiti makes all the difference.

When I had N760C, I thought it was the best--form & function, hires, MP3 player, etc. But when I got my NR70V, the N760C can't compare. NR70V has brighter and clearer hires display (plus +). I'm glad that I upgraded to NR. All software from N760C transfered to NR70V without a problem.

Absolutly. I love my NR70v.It has a camera whidh even though it isnt great qaulity it is still fun to take pictures of friends in those kodak moments. I also love the clamshell design, especially when i pull it out and put it in tablet mode an you get to har te oohs and aahs from the people around you. But the thng Ilove the most isthe hires+ screen. I love it when my friends have their palms or even other non hires+ clie devices and they see me with my 320x480 display and the things I can do with it and they cant. I just cant help but laugh at them. T put it simply the NR70 is the best os4 device so far and it wil probably go down in history as the absolute best os4 device if not one of the best pda's ever.

I had it, and I'd have to agree. Even with it's flaky problems, it is still the best OS4 device.

Having worked for a major PC reseller for years, I got the chance to test and use just about every major OS 4+ PDA. The one I bought is the Sony Clie NR70V. I'd been given a free unit from Palm, but liked the Sony so much better I sold the Palm and bought the Clie for myself.

Did you guys know that the NR is the slimmest, true clamshell PDA so far? ;)

I'd have to agree that the NR was the best. Truly revolutionary, useful, and it made other PDA manufacturers cringe.

Is this even a debate? You might be able to say the T665 was the best but the NR's have it beat in every other way other than size and weight. And it's not a big enough difference to make up for it.

No arguments here. I bought my NR70V from Dell the second they came on the market and it's still going strong. In spite of the rapid-fire releases from Sony and the debut of OS5, I have yet to find any truly compelling reasons to upgrade my trusty NR. It's durable, functional, versatile, fun and reliable - in all, everything I want in a PDA (and then some).

Now, if Sony would just get off its big, ole duff and release a hi-res+, OS5 tablet device - and Stowaway would release an XT keyboard for it - I'd finally have a reason to upgrade. But until then, the NR remains my PDA of choice.

I love my NZ90. It has a 2 megapixel camera. It has bluetooth. It has WiFi. It has a fast processor.

But I REALLY miss my NR70V. :(

Yes, in spite of its creaky hinges and pointless (for me) keyboard.

The NR70V has certainly been the best PDA I have ever owned. When I got it, it was a huge leap up from my previous device, a Handspring Visor Platinum.

Based on my current financial situation ("poor college student") and the fact that my NR70V was purchased on unusual financial circumstances (my Uncle sending me money for starting out at college and specifically telling me to get a better PDA), it may be a while before I upgrade. I probably get an NX70V when it comes way down in price (say $300-350). I'll save ;)

But, yes, the NR70V has to be the best OS 4 device.

I take my NR70V for granted a lot, but when you stop and think about it, it's true that it's the one of the best ones so far.

The slimness, and the clamshell design, combined with its speed, and great screen - do the job.

I used to think its weight, from being encased in metal was a drawback, but after carrying it around everywhere for 6 months, in pockets, and bags, and boxes, etc. its an advantage having the metal case.

It's a keeper, and will be a great bargain while they last.

which made me realize that, in nine months, I have never used my keyboard. So... the question is how many of you actually use the NR70v keyboard?

Just curious...

I used it. I like having the option to write on the virtual graffiti area or use the keyboard to type in long reports.

And for me, I would never get that NX70V because I love my NR70 and PalmOS 4.1 sooo much. Of course, I might upgrade to another clamshell (or Hi-Res+ T-series ;)) Palm OS 6, but never 5(.2).

And yes, the NR70(v) is the best OS4.1 PDA on the market today, and it will always be. :D

I love it.
Also, I use the keyboard when typing a few lines, or taking note
s. It actually comes in handy.

I use the keyboard everyday to take notes in class. It is quite useable, doesn't use anymore battery power than writing with graffiti (unlike add-on keyboards), and extends the life of my screen protectors. For me the keyboard is really a time saver. however, the use of the keyboard really depends on how much support for it is in the program you are using. Bonsai, the program I use for note taking during lectures, has wonderful thumboard support and is likely a major reason why I use the keyboard so much. In datebk5, however, I rarely use the keyboard because of the lack of "ctrl-button" support.

Another major reason that I use the keyobard a lot is the fact that I rearly like to use the graffiti area (one of the main reasons I also have Jot). By using the keyboard, I can have the graffiti area collapsed. Keyboard use has shrunk though since I purchased Jot because now I can write anywhere on the screen and not just in the graffiti area.

I agree that it was the best device on that os.

I like having the keyboard there, but it was a bit too hard for me to type a lot of text with. As far as keyboards go the NZ has the best I think.

I use the keyboard all the time. I'm a journalist and love my NR70V. I can write a 4000 letter article or editorial sitting in a plane for an hour.
You just have to get used to the keyboard, after that it's a lot faster than graffiti and almost as good as an external keyboard.

To be honest. On long trips and when I have to write longer articlesI use my laptop.

Moved over from the N710 to the NR70V last year and just love the big screen, digital camera, etc. Of all the Palm OS4 devices out there, nothing comes close to the NR70V :D

I have to agree my NR WAS incredible. Unfortunately the nurse DROPPED it in the delivery room and now the screen is just a series of lines. Fortunately, I have claimed against the hospital and they are sending me a check, going out on a limb and got a NZ. Great while it lasted.
