View Full Version : Silent Tungsten E

I do not know if anyone has experienced this, but all of a sudden, my Tungsten E is silent. Nothing will play from the speaker and nothing plays from the headphone jack either. This is very puzzling.
I checked the system settings and cannot find a Mute button.
I am afraid something blew internally. I cannot afford anyone right now! Everything else works, but not hearing reminders is bad.
Any suggestions?

Try a soft reset and see if that triggers whatever knkocked your sound out. If you installed any apps that have their own alarm I would check to make sure that you have the latest versions of those as well. And if none of those are it, I would try a hard reset and check the volume with the device with nothing on it; then installing items back one at a time to find the offending app (if any are).

Antoine,
After I posted this, I went to the PalmOne website and searched the knowledge database. There was a thread on this topic that gave a couple of goods things to try.
One of them was the soft reset/hard reset route. The soft reset did the trick, so thanks Antoine!
The thread said that sometime the switch in the headphone that turns the speaker off gets stuck. The suggestion was to insert and remove a headphone jack a couple of times.
Just in case someone finds this via a search, the link to the thread is:
