Tungsten T has been my main PDA for 3 years and I like it a lot. Just bought a T5 and can't figure out how to get the data from the T to the T5 using Hotsync. Can the two Palms have the same name so I can keep them both in sync by syncing with my Mac? What do I have to do to set this up? Thanks!

Then search by Solution ID: 29452
Synchronize with multiple handhelds or with multiple desktop computers

Hope this was helpful.

Hi,

I solved this problem synchronizing to Outlook, in this way I share my data between a T-5, a TJ-35, an M-125 and finally an ACER N30 (pocketpc). Sometime I synchronize also a TI Avigo and a Geofox One.

This is due to the fact that I do not like to sell my old device, and sometime I come back to use one of them.

Ciao

Trying to keep both Palms synced to one set of data is very risky and generally a 'recipe for disaster'...

If you just want to transfer the data from one to the other however, this is a lot simpler usually:

In general you can just copy over everything EXCEPT the Saved and Unsaved Preferences files, to a VFS card, and then copy them off there onto the new one. Alternatively, HotSync the contents of your Backup directory (sand Prefs files!!) to the new PDA.
There are gotchas doing this 'tho - Ideally it's better if you manually re-install everything and just copy the datafiles over.

If you search the forums, there are a few threads on the rough procedures in more detail...
