Its funny that they were charging 8.88 a month. HAHAHAHAHA, I probably used it twice, and it was just for testing.
Vindicates my decision to purchase and stay with Win-Hand 4.4, which predates the "Anywhere" server-based version 5.x.

Can you? I don't think it's possible because the PC client works with the internet. I tried using 5.2 and it will not allow you to connect to the machine, forcing you to upgrade to 5.3.
can someone tell me how they charge you? how can they charge you without any info on you?

Well duh, of course they request it. Like, since it's windows client based. They have it limit your account until you select a payment option which is followed by your credit card information. It was only a matter of time until they begun charging people. I just think it's hilarious the amount they're charging. I wouldn't pay more than 20 bucks for a palm app, and they're asking for almost 10 a month. LOLOL. I can finance a PDA with that.

time to move to realvnc (http://www.realvnc.com/) which is free and easy to use (version 3.3.7 (http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/3.3.7/download.html) is the best IMO)
work like charm with palmvnc (http://palmvnc2.free.fr/)
it's free and works over firewalls and vpn.

Is it fast? That's what I hated about WinHand.

yep it's pretty fast. both real vnc and palmvnc. im using them to support most of my customers, wherever im..
can connet the either from my pc and my palm, and its all free.
though i must say, that on internal lan, winhand is a bit faster.
Versions of Win-Hand prior to 5.x were more like Symantec's "PC Anywhere", while the new versions are like "Go To My PC". Older versions of Win-Hand do not use a intermediate server. It establishes a connection via the Internet using the IP address of the host. This created configuration, and support, problems for users who did not have a fixed IP address or who used a firewall, and I can understand why the developer changed to a server based model which eliminates most of those issues. However, once configured the older version works well and there is no dependence on the developer's server, concerns about privacy, or perpetual fees.

Where can we get the older versions back?
when istalling an older version you'll be prompt to upgrade to the lastest one, so what's the point?
