When I was looking for BT GPS receivers, I came across this...

WiFi MS (http://www.semsons.com/semsons-inc/hamewilancao.html)

I'm not sure if they have any available, but it seems like a great price. Semsons' customer service is incredible and the shipping is very fast.

Got it. Has longer range of connections but it takes up more battery life than the built-in WiFi. Probably the bright blue light they have built-into their WiFi MS has to do something with it. Also, you gain WiFi but loose headphone jack.

JA, just out of curious, what's the wifi stick got to do with the phone jack?

It covers it.

Boy, that is a poor design!

They had plenty of room left of the memory stick slot without covering the headphone jack.

It looks like they don't list it anymore. The outlet no longer shows the item.

Yep, thats why I like the UX50. I like the UX50's color until I look at my UX again. But the only thing that I like on the UX50 better than the UX40 is the button's backlight. The backlight on the UX40 was orange just like the 50, which made it have a ugly backlighting, in my opinion. Otherwise, the UX40's case looks the best. Even the border around the screen blends in more.

It's not 100% poor design. You're forgetting that the UX40 isn't the only Clie without WiFi. On the TG50, the way that the WiFi memory stick is shaped allows you to access the headphone jack... if it were the other way around, then TG50 users could not use the headphone jack, while UX40 users could.

I'm guessing that they didn't think much about the UX users, as if you notice, when Hagiwara first announced the stick, they showcased it with the TG50. And as such, perhaps they designed it with the TG50 (or the other Clies with similar form-factors) in mind...

Perhaps they thought that UX40 users were users who didn't really need WiFi, since they could have just gotten a UX50? Whereas TG50 users, no other option.

Not sure. Granted, they maybe could have just made it longer and not as wide. But, what can you do.

The battery life that WiFi uses scares me away from MP3 playback anyways at this point in time...

Though, on the TG50, there were a couple times when I used PocketTunes to stream my favourite radio station while I surfed the internet. Drained the battery like anything, however, if you can imagine.

It's slightly annoying. But I've gotten over it.

I bought my WiFi Memory Stick almost immediately after they came out on MobilePlanet.com .. for a very hefty price. Used it with my TG50, until my TG50's memory stick slot crapped out on me.. then got the UX40, and using it happily still.

I have a WiFi MS I don't use anymore and a UX40 that can turn on but can't charge. The Speaker is also messed up. What a waste.

How much did you buy your WiFi MS for? Not worth it to sell?

I know that mine probably isn't... when I bought it, it was some $130. Then the price dropped to only around $50... so if I were to sell mine, I would get less than $50.. which is just outrageous. For me, selling it would hurt too much... which is kind of why I'm glad that I can still use it with my UX40. Sounds strange I know.. but when you pay that much for something, you kind of want to get your money's worth.
