Which Memory Stick Pro did you get?

Which Memory Stick Pro did you get? I ordered the 512. Should be here by Tues. That's more than enough for me right now. I 'll use it to store videos, mp3s(when I'm able) Pictures, apps(still wish Pidirect worked with os 5 though), rolling backups with backupman and books to name a few things. Most of my work apps reside on my ram and flash.

Well, I ordered the 512 mb one, but I haven't received it yet. I hope to get it in a couple of days.

I got the 256 switch...i'll use 128 for mp3s and the other 128 for power run and misc a/v.

I understand...thats why I said I got the switch...whats so pro about the pro anyway? Its faster...not really, still limited to the current hardware...our clie's wont make use of this faster speed...this way I have full use of my 256 right out of the box. I am not saying your wrong for buying a pro, but I only wanted 256mb and going pro looked real dumb to me.

All I was saying is that this poll is about which memory stick PRO you bought, not which memory stick select you bought. I'm glad to hear that you got the select, but if you voted in the poll, you scewed (sp?) the results. Not that this bothers me, just wanted you to know. When I first commented, I was trying to let you know this wothout directly saying it and risk offending you, because I DON'T want to do that, really. No, seriously, I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't realize the question was only about ms pro.

I'm sorry, I meant that if you voted in the poll for the 256 ms pro, you might have scewed the poll, since you got a 256 select.

I was offended and didn't mean to offend you if I did. I was just stating that in my case I saw no reason to buy a pro. In your case you wanted 512 and there was no 'switch' 512 so you had no option. In my case I had the choice and I chose not to go pro...for the reasons I state above.

Well, I apologize for offending you..sorry. Just the way you posted originally, not mentioning that you didn't get the ms pro, but stating that you got the select I thought that you had the two confused. I had no idea you were implying that, and I don't know you personally to comment otherwise. It was my misunderstanding and, once again, I aplogize.

I am interested about the switch ms. There was something about the PROs not being able to play MP3s or Movies (pretty much the main reason to have one). Will this change with updated drivers, or am I mistaken. Does the Switch MS allow you to take movies etc? thx.

Im sorry I meant to say wasn't offened....honestly...i was thinking and typing and the wrong thing came out...right now your pro will not play movies or mp3s which is the main reason I got the switch...works out of the box. Another reason? Switch 256 is $106 shipped...256 pro is $137...

There is adriver which should be released soon from sony so the MS pro will work fine in the nx and nz, but I guess not unitil then. As far as I know, the ms select can do anything previous ms could do, you just need to take the ms out and flip a switch to go from one 128mb unit to another.

You got a point, but I figured I would get the pro and just wait for the driver. I want one ms i can leave in all the time. The 512 mb one should last me a little while!:p

I agree...I think in certain cases each is better.

I have very little faith in sony as far as releasing software for hardware already sold...im sure it will come out...just not sure when...and i am not patient...lol.

There's a post in the nz section somewhere about a guy using his ms pro without any limatations. I'll look for it later. He said he was able to run videos and listen to mp3s as well, but he's using a nz. Really not sure what's different between the nz and the nx other than the obvious.

No, I think some varieties of truffles are more expensive per ounce!..and that you eat and can't look at it once its gone (or I don't think you would want to after eating it!). :D
