View Full Version : No warranty for TH55/E

So I tried to register my new (from Expansys) TH55/E on the Sony UK website. I know that if I have problems with it, I would have to send it to the UK for service and all that. But when I went to register it, it said the site had been discontinued, and directed me to a Vaio site to log in. I'm a little concerned, since a full years warranty is a full years warranty, and while I'm not expecting any problems, it would be nice to have it in place should I need it. Has anyone else tried registering any Clies on the UK site? :(

l have a questiun. does expansys take care of all the custom duties and tariffs

My recommendation - Don't worry about it.

When I rang up for a repair of the camera on mine, I hadn't registered it, so they did it over the phone; No fuss, no muss.

There's no advantage in registering it 'early', although keep the proof-of-purchase around JIC.

hi rlc, how much did u pay for the clie from expansys? Their price seemed to have ballooned now

castafarian, you still havent got your clie yet?... or still eyeing on a bluetooth th55?...

i saw a cheap one selling at $450 at spug.. i should have waited for a while more.

I purchased from Expansys in the USA, not overseas. No customs or tariffs was involved.

I paid what the current listed price is (I'm embarrassed to mention it) :eek: . I don't think they are selling a lot as their inventory has only shrunk one since I purchased mine.

oh guys... here are enough european Users who would ship the TH55 to the States even they dont write it in their auctions. I would do so, but I have no TH55 (I dont like it ;) )

If you're in Canda, you won't. I didn't pay any when I purchased from Expansys USA.

I just got my TH55 and currntly use a Treo 600 and NX70. Did you have problems syncing your T600 and TH55? What steps did you take?

No, not a problem. I sync both of them on two computers, one at work, one at home.

On the work computer, I installed the Treo 600 software and got it working. Then I just hooked up the TH55 and synced it. It found it, then asked for the install CD for the Sony USB drivers. It worked fine, I even set it up to sync via BT.

On the home computer I did just the opposite, I installed the TH55 software so I could use the Clie Organizer. Then I installed the Treo software on top of it, and it worked fine. The Clie syncs with the Palm desktop, but still recognized the Clie Organiezer.
