hi, members.
I have a NX60 with white bar on the right margin of LCD. When I slightly press on the top & black plastic panel, the white bar will be gone fully. All functions of this unit are perfect but the LCD. Could any one give me some advices on fixing this problem. I found the screw is star-like on the screw top rather than the - or + screw bit. Where can I buy the star-like screw driver bit on the market? will the problem be on the connector or on the lcd glasses? thank you for answering my questions.
Namuomidobu ;)
dropped my nr 70 about one year ago.
the Screen looked the same like yours. Some moths ago, i decided to open it again to try to fix it.
I Think I did it. Now, there are 2 or 3 vertical white lines (1 pixel wide) , but if you press gently on the black thing under the display, they disappear for some minutes.
I think the screwdriver is available in any security-screwdriver-set.
(I haven't tried to find one yet. My NR 70 has phillips screws, and i didn't have to open my NR 73 yet.
How to fix it if the pda has the same screen as the NR 70:
Or, to make ist at least better again.
1. Open your clie (you only have to open the screean housing itself)
2. remove the digitizer from the TFT
3. put the TFT on a table. Now press gently the silver bar. (which is located where the dark on the board directly connected to the screen)
(you only need to press a small part of it, so use a flathead screwdriver) You'll find a point where you can press and the white lines are gone again.
4. Remember this point (probably mark it using a thin pen.
5. Try to find any small thing which fits exactly between the digitizer and the silver bar, and presses on it when the digitizer is put in again.
6. Put the digitizer on again. You probably have to try several different things to put under the digitizer.
7. Test your digitizer. If it doesn't work (or if the digitizer gests inaccurate after some minutes, remove the digitizer again and use a smaller thing between digitizer and the silver bar.
P.S. Using this way, I was able to repair my clie. But I cannot guarantee that it will work. Remember that your warranty will be void after you did this.
much luck.
repotr if you succeded.

hi, JFB,
I did what you told me on previous posting. and I am satisfied with the outcome.
1) a precise (-) screw driver is ok to open the screen.
2) I inserted something under the plastic cover. the white lines remains 1/2 on the screen.
3) I applied something and rubber band on the plastic cover, the white lines are gone.
4) I have to use it like this way with rubber band.
enclosed are my current screen pictures.
thank you.

hi, Frozerino,
Please refer to the questions "Need helps for the new comer about my NX60 LCD with white bar on right margin." on the top of this page and those pictures.
There were white lines on the right part of the first picture. The white lines were gone when press the gray plastic panel. Then my solutions following JFB's suggestion on #2 question.
thank you.

What a punk. frozerino was just asking a question, as you were. Normally if you want help, you give help. Apparently your parents didn't teach you - "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." What if the rest of us answered your first question like you did with frozerino? These boards are about helping people, even if they ask an off-topic question.....
Good luck with your problem now.

hi, frozerino
I misunderstand your question. you are asking the window.
I really do not know, I bought this nx60 from local yard sale. the preowner is a 30 something man, he sold me this pda with his games, even his friends phone numbers.
I am new to the nx60. when I try to make pictures after it was fixed. I just searching every function with color screen to show the result that JFB told me. Now when I want to search again, I do not know where it is. it is a little bit of complex to me to me. may be the program is deleted accidently. Even the first screen on the top question was gone too. Fortunately, one of users tells you the answer. I do not play any game on either ps2, pc, or pda.
Hi, frozerino,
On the previous email, I try to explain you what I have done for my pda from my courtesy. I do not think I offend you or others. If I did, I would answer you any question, that is your business. hope you can understand this. This is a unfriendly forum society.
bye forever...

Why do you think I offend Frozerino on the posting? If I am not happy, I would not even bother to type many words on the forum. I answered from my courtesy and tried to feedback to the forum. because I learned from JFB. If the sentence offends Mr. frozerino, only Mr. frozerino can preach me not you. Do not say any one bad. What I am is nothing to do with you. Just keep your eyes on the forum ONLY.
To a very impolite & rude person.

No need to get personal here. I thnk that namuomidobu was just after an immediate solution to his screen problem and never intended to be rude to frozerino. All he/she wanted was an explanation to a defect on his/her newly purchased device which he/she knows nothing about. I think it is unfair to judge his/her character with such a post. :(:(:(

Whoa, whoa here. I'm not judging the guy, just stating that if we all acted like that, no one would get help here. I too did not mean to offend, but his reply was pretty rude in the first place. He came here looking for help and so did frozerino. All frozerino got was a cold shoulder. We have all replied to try and help out the original poster yet he seemed unwilling to even give another new guy even a second of his time. It would have been very easy to just reply and say "I don't know what program that is, but do you have any idea about my problem?" End of story and everyone is happy.
Again, not trying to offend anyone, but I hate seeing a new guy get blasted for asking a resonable question to another member.

I hope you can sense the language barrier here. No one really intended to offend anyone.
I was pointing out the 'parents' thing you made that apperently offended the other. I just thought that while it is easy to say that to some, some will have a hard time taking it.

Yes, I can. And yes, I getcha. I totally didn't mean to offend. Just wanted to keep a new guy from getting mistreated by another new guy. :o I just felt like the original poster thought he was above answering questions until he got what he needed and that's not the way we work around here. :D

Two negatives do not really make something postive everytime. ;)
I do understand where you are coming from though. Thanks for that.
Peace. :D

ho ho guys, calm down, i don't feel offended at all. i asked a question, namuomidobu wasn't able to answer, i made my question a bit more clear, and he even told the reason why he wasn't able to answer.
harpgliss came up with the answer to my question (i'm installing warfare right now), thnx harpgliss :)
and to namuomidobu, good luck with your fixed nx60 screen! i hope the device serves you well!
