Please don't crucify me for some of these questions, but I need some definite answers here.
I have read a lot of stuff in the forums and I think my head is at the verge of an explosion.
I need more memory. It's filling up fast, and I don't even have all the apps I want on this thing yet.
What I would like to do is store and run apps off of the Memorystick, and keep all my media on a CF card. I would also like the icons for apps in the Memorystick to be on the main launcher, I don't want to have to go searching for them. I would also like to group some of the less used apps together and hide them, so I don’t have to scroll through them all the time, but still have access to them when I need them.
Will the infamous zlauncher do all this? Is there a better launcher I should get? And where can I get them (including zlauncher)?

I have also read about Jackflash, and I think I understand what is going on with that.

Here is the most important question: Is there some place I can get full versions for free? I know, I know, I'm a cheap *** and I don't need any lectures on it, I just thought I would throw the question out there. :D
In the end, if these will work, I'll pay if I have to.

Thanks!

ZLauncher wil do.

http://www.zztechs.com will get you a FULL version for free. You'll have to pay for it after 30 days though.

And one more warez question and we'll chop your head off, you're warned. ;)

You might also look at PowerRun. It allows for running apps from MS. Also, JackFlash is a must on the NX70. I've got a ton of junk loaded into my spare ROM(whatever, it's not "read-only"). That will help alleviate some of your space problems.

I have an NX80 and use both JackFlash and PowerRun. Basically, JackFlash lets me use unused ROM and I put frequently used apps there because they launch fast. Most apps happily will go into ROM. The rule seems to be as long as it is read-only; that is, don't try putting a database there. I download freeware, mainly games and such and use PowerRun to load these onto the MS to save precious RAM. PowerRun lets you store apps and databases onto a MS and you can launch them from there. It creates a small shortcut in RAM that you select from the launcher. It's a little slower to launch because it copies the app from MS into RAM, but I generally only use it for games and the like. I have found this combination works well for me. You do have to pay for these but their flexibility and convenience is worth it.

So what are we saying here? All 3? Zlauncher, PowerRun, and JackFlash?
Also, maybe some of you could help me with this little problem:
I downloaded some updates for the RMC for Satellite. Problem is only 2 of the 3 show up even know all 3 are in the Clie. So, how can I either make all 3 show up or delete the one that doesn't? I can't find it in the files or anything.

zod, you should get FileZ, a free file manager that lets you view and delete all files on your palm. Do a search to find the download site. (Google is probably fastest.)

As for your other question: Definitely get JackFlash, especially if you have an NX80. It just plain gives you more memory to use for apps. Then get one of the others--you probably won't need both. Basically, ZLauncher is a launcher plus file manager with tons of options, that lets you store apps and DB's on your mem stick, but they can "look" like they are in main memory. It's a larger app, and some people complain that it's too confusing because it has so many options and capabilities. Of course, that's exactly why others love it. PowerRun, from what I understand, just lets you store apps on memory stick while making them "look" like they are in main memory. It does not have a launcher with it, so if you like the Sony Launcher, it may be the way to go.

Of course, there are plenty of other similar programs that you could look at. (By the way, almost all of these have free trials). LinkStart is a free app that can also move a program to mem stick while making it "look" like it's in main memory, and it's free. It does seem to take longer to launch apps than some of the others, though. You may also want to check out MSMount. Good luck!

My 2 cents:

You didnīt explained what NX you have. Suppose an NX80 like mine, because of your avatar. So letīs show what I am doing with my device.

1. Selected apps which donīt use big databases, mainly apps that consist in one prc file - > put them inside free ROM using JackFlash. You could use up to 15MB of space available in ROM. JackFlash could not change the files inside ROM, so almost always you could not put databases inside ROM.

2. Apps that consist of many files, with some databases, some large -> put them inside the MemoryStick card, with PowerRun. The advantage of PowerRun: any changed file is restored to the MemoryStick, so you donīt miss any change to the app. PowerRun creates an icon for each moved app, exactly the same look as if the apps where in RAM, but only 2k in size. The rest is inside the MS card. When you tap over the icon, PowerRun fastcopy the files to RAM an launch the real app. When quitting app, PowerRun copies the changed files back to card and delete all the files from RAM.

3. If you have a lot of apps, maybe you would need a launcher different from the Clie Launcher. I prefer LauncherX because itīs small and works great as a launcher. But many people like ZLauncher and others. ZLauncher could launch apps from your MS card, but other launchers could too.

I have a lot of apps & databases, and thanks to the combined use of PowerRun and JackFlash, have +4.2 MB free of memory.
