Does anyone have any idea if there is a prog for the NX that will support the Ogg Vorbis file format? If not, has anyone heard of a prog in development that will support it?

There is one for the Tungsten T, but Sony is using a non-standard system for the sound on the devices and isn't releasing that info to devlopers. If that info is released, or if Sony does some update to use the OS5 sound, then there should be some Ogg players (and better MP3 players) out.

[Developer question]
Doesn't the CLIE NX/NZ support the Sound Stream feature set ?
I haven't used it yet, but I was planning on it

Has anyone heard of any developers working on such a project?

Unfortunately not, which is odd. Sony designed their PalmOS5 units to be able to use both their older HiRes/HiRes+ APIs as well as the official PalmOS5 APIs, even giving preference to the PalmOS5 API (minor incompatibilities that were resolved in favor of the PalmOS5 APIs), but then, rather than use the PalmOS5 soundsystem, created yet another proprietary interface. As I understand it, they're not even backwards compatible with the PalmOS4 Clies that could play MP3s, though I haven't verified this myself.

Hi,
Here is an answer from Pocket Tunes about an other mp3 player.
Does anyone has an idea about organizing 1GB of mp3 files with the NX
audio player ?
========================
Laurent,
We currently don't support that device because Sony has not made their audio API available. As soon as this information is made available, we will look into adding support for the Sony device.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!
Take care,
Tim

Sony's proprietary shenanigans make loving them soooo difficult :(
