Zlauncher bottom bar & status bar gap

Hello,

It may sound silly, but I was wondering if it is possible to eliminate the gap, which is a white line, between the status bar and the bottom bar of the zlauncher.

Not that I know about. It exists in all skins I've tried, including with custom status bar loads with SkinDIA.

Below you can see screenshots from a TH55 and a Tungsten T3 with the same Zlauncher skin.
On the TH55 there's no gap between the Zlauncher bottom bar and the Statusbar. On the T3 you can see clearly that there's a white line between them.

In my opinion this has nothing to do with the Zlauncher skin.

It's nice to see that you can put my T3 ZL screenshot to good use, faz!! :) I thought that I recognized it. BTW, that gap exists with LauncherX skins, as well. I use T3AgendaBG to handle my DIA skins. But even with the standard DIA skin, the gap is there.

2. How do you get screenshots? I assume it's an app that does it, but what app is it?

The Zlauncher skin you see is my "Clean Palmlook" Zlauncher skin. See my signature.

I make screenshots using the freeware program HRCaptDA (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67943&highlight=hrcaptda)

Looking at the screenshots, it looks as though the gap between the dia and status bar is much less than the gap between the ZL bottom bar and the dia/status bar. The height of the TH55 Status bar is 30 pixels, the height of the Tungsten bottom bar is only 28 (not taking into account any of the white space). Could the gap be made up for in a modded version of any of the skin compiler's, such as ZL Thememaker or SkinT3?

Agreed, but I'm wondering if a "fix" can be accomplished with one of the skinmakers...

That would be great. The white gap (and also the two vertical white lines on the Tungsten Statusbar) was one (minor) reason why I exchanged my T3 for a TH55.

As I recall, a lot of folks tried to figure out how to eliminate that gap between the status bar and the DIA on the T3 and couldn't figure out how to do it. It seems to be hard coded in.

I was afraid of that. Maybe it would be possible for someone to write a YAHM hack which would overcome the problem?

Thanks filber. I downloaded DA Launcher v5 5.1b4 & HRCapt DA version 1.81, but I cannot make it work. I followed the instructions found in http://www.launchplug.com/HRCaptDA.html, but after step two I am stack. I cannot find this preference selection. Does HRCapt work with T3/T5?

I would appreciate if someone could provide me with some instructions.

OK, I managed to make it work!!! The instructions in the link above are not really applicable for the T3/T5, but it is easy enough to make it work.

In my experience, HRCaptDA will not capture the full T3 screen when the T3 DIA is up, but only when the DIA is hidden. ScreenShot5 will capture the entire screen even in landscape, and can save the screenshots as jpeg files on the card.

I just noticed that in my screeshot, the status bar is not in. I use HRCaptDA, does anyone know what I have to do in order the screenshot to include the status bar?

In fact those are the standard Clie icons. I don't use an iconset, however I think that you will find a clie-look iconset in the standard Zlauncher download pakkage.

OK, I understand now. The T3/T5 screenshot is not mine. I "borrowed" it from Ricktt3, so maybe he can answer your question.

I use both ZGrab and HRCaptDA to do my screenshots. Both are freeware. ZGrab takes a little more work and you have to convert the image when you get it off of your card, but it gets the whole screen, including the DIA. You just have to make sure that you deactivate it when you are done with your screenshots or you will take a shots every time you turn your palm off.

I think that I got the crystal icon set from Leslie Frank's Crystal ZL theme. I download so many themes from different places that I am not certain anymore.

thanks ricktt3. I will try both the icoset and ZGrab when I go home. I think though that I came across a thread where it was mentioned that ZGrab is not compatible with the T5. I'll let you know.

Come on, someone should be able to disassemble the DIA skin structure and reposition the bitmaps. I assume there must be somewhere a description of the elements of the skin, saying "this bitmap has this size and is placed at position X,Y", no? http://www.1src.com/forums/images/smilie/images/smilies/cool.gif

there is such gap in default launcher too (as i remember), and in applications that run not in full screen too.
it's not the problem of Zlauncher.

I never said that it is a problem with ZLauncher, but I am wondering if a theme can be created without this gap being visible. Of course, if the bottom bar is white, the gap is hardly noticable, but if it is dark then it is annoying.

I don't think that you can get rid of the gap. Maybe there's a way to change the color. If somebody finds a solution to this problem, maybe he can also find a solution to the white border around the Clie/Tungsten screen. I would really like to have this border changed from white to black.

I know that it is a different topic, but ZGrab works ok with my T5. It caused me a fatal error at the beginning and I had to do a soft reset, but now it seems ok.

there is an app that removes the status bar by pushing and holding the down button on the D-pad. It's called MaxT3 but it works on the T5 too.
