I'm not interested in Sony's $99 WiFi card for my NX70V but I have seen others for much lower prices that peaked my interest. All the other CF WiFis seem to be for pocket PC only. Can anyone shed some light on this subject please?
- Ambicom Compact Flash 802.11B wireless $44 at BestBuy.com but I see it is only spec'ed to work with Pocket PC PDAs.
- Netgear MA701. Same pocket PC limitation.
A WiFi card for under $50 would be something I would purchase to go with my home WiFi network.
Sorry if this post is a repeat. I did do a search and didn't come up with anything.

So far only the sony CF wifi works on the NX. You can probably keep waiting and see if sony is going to lower the price.
I know $99 AR is still a lot compared to other CF wifi but I purchased mine for 150+tax. So I say it's pretty good deal already.

yes, i agree as well. here downunder they are retailing for around $330.00 AUD. So, id say $99.00 U.S. is a good deal.
by the way $330.00 is around $195.00 U.S.

Right, the Sony PEGA-WL100 is the only WiFi card that currently works in the Clie. This subject has been discussed many times and many have tried to use other CF WiFi cards to no avail, even with the Sony driver.
I do not find the Sony card to be overly expensive, as it is an Intel Pro Wireless card. The WiFi card for a Handspring Visor is $299.00 USD.

I don't own one yet, but I have read that the Sony WiFi card is one of the best when it comes to range and battery life. I imagine that those less expensive cards aren't as good. So maybe you get what your paying for.

cbulock may be right about that. How fast is the wifi speed? Do you need to pay anything say usage or monthly payment? Just curious...

11Mbps theoretical speed, actual 2Mbps approximately. The card is predominately used for wireless 802.11b LANs. A wireless network vs a wired network or a combination of the two. There is other application and uses, please checkout the link below.

yes YTTAN, you do not pay anything for service since you are connecting to your own network. Or a wireless hotspot - that's another story.
