i need some help and i will get right to it..

I rescently bought a 2nd hand partaly faulty NX70 off ebay and today i finally got it. After about 6 hrs of "fixing", i totally broke the LCD totally. Anywho then i took out my old LCD from my NR70 and put it in.. and... IT WORKS!!

BUT!!!

when the lcd is fliped.. the Screen won't flip, but the digitizer DOES!
(I took a good look at the lcd moduel and found out both LCD uses different graphic chip)

So now i guess i could...

1. anyone selling non functional NX series machine with working LCD? (This way i can retire my NR70 to my girlfriend.)

2. anyone know a flip hack out there that can flip screen? but not the digitizer?

3. Disconnect the hardware flipping switch inside altogether.. i will just hold my NX upside down when in tablet mode....

any suggestion or idea is welcome.

I had the exact same problem as you. I bought a NX70 with a broken screen from ebay a little over a year ago for something like $35. Everything worked, but the screen was shot to hell. I swapped the screens with my NR70, but got the flippy problem. Anyway, I bought an NX screen from him a few weeks ago, and used it to "repair" the NX70, and now both my clie's work perfectly, without good screens and no screen flip problem.

$50's not bad... :)

Wladmir... if you want to fix your LCD, you're gonna have to buy a new LCD from ebay or elsewhere and swap them yourself. Replacing the screen is quite a simple process, so don't be intimidated by it.

Don't know whether the nx70 is similar to the nx80. In the nx80, only had to remove the 4 screws on the side (don't touch the ones within the swivel). It has a few snap tabs that need some force to open.

So that still dose not answer the question. How do I get rid of the flippy thing.

What is a flippy thing? :)

If you replaced the NX70 screen with an NR60 screen, then the ONLY way to get rid of the screen-flip (i.e. flippy thing) problem is to replace the screen with an NX70 screen. Although the NR60 screen will work in the NX70, it is limited and will not support the screen flip for the NX.

Thx for letting me know.. yeah, but now i have completely destoried my NX70, lol

One night i have decided to choose Option 3. disconnect the flipping switches in my NX70 all together.. took me about 2 hr to disconnect them (just 2, one under the swiviling arm, one beside the camera button). I did a open case test, yup, everything works!!! I got a flip NX70 in tablet mode.

anywayz, while i was putting it back together, i think i accidently shorted the power circuit. After i put it all back, it won't turn on.. ~_____~ the battery won't charge and the machine will only stay ON when using external power source (this is not a battery problem since the battery works fine in my NR70) so i had to take out the screen and put it back to my NR.. now waiting for another damaged NX70/60 on ebay..
