Hello can anyone help?
I've had no problem synching my TJ37 to Outlook at work until this morning.
Now I'm getting an error message that reads: "Unable to get data from an Outlook or MS Exchange record. Lack of network access to MS Exchange server can cause this problem."
I tried unclicking the application check box in Intellisynch Lite and clicking back to Outlook, as someone recommended here on 1scr, but no dice.
Thanks!

Do you know if your network guys at your work changed the location of your Outlook file? Or maybe changed the security settings associated with your Outlook file? If you're using Outlook 2003, you might check Sony's support site. There is an Intellisync Lite update that affects the way IS and Outlook communicate..... :D
let us know if anything works!

Hi all,
I spent over an hour with the IT guys at my office and on the phone with the messaging folks and no luck. I still can't hotsynch to Outlook using Intellisynch lite.
This is what we tried so far:
1) Unintalling and reinstalling intellisynch
2) Upgrading intellisynch with the Outlook 2003 fix
3) Deleting my Outlook profile an creating a new one
4) Soft resetting the Clie
Can anyone suggest another solution?

Are you still receiving the same exact error?

I had a similar problem. I also tried to fix things through my Company's IT department. I think my 8-year old would have been more help. They told me since the Company didn't purchase my PDA, they can't/won't/don't support it.
Is HotSync erroring on the datebook (calendar) app?
If so, it's a corrupt Outlook record. Bear with me, I am writing this from memory so it may be somewhat sketchy.
After several months of frustration, I fixed my problem by creating an Outlook view that listed all the calendar entries. Then I selected the entries from the past, and deleted them via the view table I created.
If you create the view table correctly, you should see all the calendar entries, past and future. Sort the table by date and delete all entries you no longer need. I had entries as far back as 1996.
Also, try deleting the recurring item then recreate after you fix the HotSync error.
Hope this works.

Thanks Glassman and Cerberus!
I deleted the past appointments and now I'm able to hotsynch again!
(On a slightly different topic, do you know of a way to configure intellisynch lite so it doesn't prompt me whenever there are additions or deletions during hotsync? This feature is very annoying.)
Thanks again!

From the Start menu:
Intellisync Lite>Intellisync Configure>Advanced>Notify me when conflicts occur.
Is this your current setting?
If so, use a different (appropriate) choice.

Even when I set the advanced options to "Add all conflicting items" intellisync still prompts me to "Accept" changes made during the hotsynch.
I have a suspicion that this is a feature built in to annoy me into buying the full version.

You think they would do that?
I love to see other people are as cynical as I am.

I'm holding out so far.
But if there are any other free conduits out there, I'm willing to give them a try.
Glassman, can you recommend any?

I did try the full Intellisync trial and Chapura (KeySuite) trial when I was having the Outlook calendar problems. It didn't fix my problem and I didn't see any real benefit to these over Intellisync Lite. I was actually entering my calendar data into Outlook and my PDA seperately. Finally, I got so frustrated, I spent the better part of the day trying anything and everything until I figured out the old appointments were causing the error.
I am not sure if there is an Outlook compatible FREE solution. Let me know if you find one.
I have always wanted to see the conflicts so I am not sure if the full version of Intellisync addresses this. You might want to try the trials or check out the Intellisync (Pumatech) website for technical support.
Sorry I'm not more help.
