I am running Windows XP Pro
Internet Explorer 6

After trying to download "trials" of a few databases (one at a time mind you!), then uninstalling them when I discovered it wasn't the database I wanted to use....I then tried to hotsync my PalmOne Tungsten T5 --

When I select Hotsync and start to hotsync, my Tungsten T5 starts out by identifying user...then

"The exception unknown software
exception (0x0eedfade) occurred
in the application at location 0x77e73887"

Then when I click "okay" to close that window I get:

Runtime error at 217 at 00E74226

Do you have ANY idea what it means or where I can find a solution? My only other avenue is to "restore my PC bac to March 12 (the last time it backed up) and hope that will fix it??

I already tried Uninstalling PalmDestop and reinstalling...same issue!! HELP!!!

Now just OPENING Hotsync Manager I get the above application errors so now I can't even Hotsync at all. All my "connections" are correct.

Thanks-
D..

Sounds like the HotSyn conduit didnt register correctly when it installed. Try doing a uninstall and then going into the Registry editor (Start > Run > then type: regedit); provided that you have administrator priviledges on that computer, that should open a window that shows the registry. Go to Edit > Find and do a search for palmOne. Delete any keys that refer to PalmOne and then restart your computer. NOTE: doing this is dangerous and if you delete the wrong file you could do some damage to WinXP, if you arent comfy, I would suggest to find someone who is. Also, before deleting from the Registry, you will want to make a backup to teh registry (should be in the File menu) and save that to a place like C:/My Documents so that it is easy to find if you needed to reinstall the registry.

That is all that I know to suggest. Sorry if that sounds like a lot.

Outlook2003 is giving same errors on Palm (+ OLERR in hotsync log). I have heard there are lot of problems with T5. SW not stable. After batteling for several weeks, I have decided after being a PALM user for over 6 years to move on. Palm's focus is on phone's not on PDA. Declining market now. Helpdesk is doing their best, but often cannot help. Palm (HQ) is not response to their customers is my experience.

Well, the question is does the Runtime error still occur when you do a Zero Out reset,, Rename your Backup folder so no 3rd party software gets in?
