Evey couple weeks or so my ux40 dies on me. Nothing revives it but a hard reset, even after that it will turn on but will die again. So after a hard reset, erasing all my data and a turn off in power saving mode it starts to work normally again... for about 2 weeks and then deja vu.
I 1rst thought it was because of either Appshelf or Zlauncher but I havent had either on my clie for a few weeks now and I'm still having the problem.
I guess my questions are,#1 will the constant hard resets hurt my clie?
#2 Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what did you do about it?
#3 Should I send it to sony for a repair?

Are you Hotsyncing after the hard reset or installing your apps one-by-one? List the apps/hacks/updates you are using. Someone may be able to notice a conflict.

Yes I do hotsync afterward, but I didn't install anything extra.
After my last incident, which was today, I watched a movie on the clie and it went out again after watching the movie.
Would it have something to do with that?

I would suggest deleting everything in Internal Media and doing a hard reset. Then creating a new user (Hotsync ID) in the Palm Desktop. Install a few apps (using the new Hotsync ID) that you are having problems with and try it for a few days. This will tell you if the Hotsync is causing the corruption or instability.

You can always reset the device and Hotsync using your old Hotsync ID at a later date.

You can always use the Migration utilty on the SonyStyle site to create the Hotsync ID. This would migrate your Palm Desktop information (addresses, todos, dates, and memos) to the new ID.
