no, it ain't one of those schmancy flat panels. it ain't gigantic. it ain't even widescreen. but it is HD, and it's plenty big for my little 11'x16' living room the short distance being the viewing distance).

i CANCELED the order on the 32" CRT (it was backordered, so i had a few weeks to second guess myself)... and then placed an order for this:

plasma with a capital p. on the "real" AV forums (fora?), this model has been getting bang-up reviews. i'm darn psyched.

panasonic apparently has several plasma technology patents that increase brightness and black levels. this display also has 2048 levels of gradation, as opposed to 1024 on the previous generation models (G7). also, the press release mentioned increased sub-pixel control that gives it 30% greater brightness.
