Hi,

For all those who managed to get their hands on a TG50, I have one big question: does it work with Jot 2.01 or NewPen? I have read other postings that indicate it works with Graffiti Anywhere.

I'm asking because I still prefer Graffiti input, and I don't want to use the built-in virtual Graffiti in the TG50 because it's too cumbersome to hit a button every time I want to input text.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm getting it to work fairly easily with Graffiti Anywhere--just click the thumb button and it turns on, thereafter write on left of screen for alpha, right for numeric. pretty easy.

can't believe the built in works the way it does--surely there's a shortcut we're missing?

Jot works great with the Tg-50...I'm still returning it because of reasons I noted in another group...No hires assist, requires 3rd party grafitti to work with some apps (like textplus...awesome app by the way), I rarely use keyboard. I;d love a 320 x 480 device with the VG like the NX series...any word on that?

I don't know about Graffiti Anywhere, it's too hard to do punctuations and it won't let you place the cursor anywhere on the screen until after you disable it. Newpen is better, but it's also not that great cuz you can only write on the upper half of the screen at all times. Jot would probably be the best, but the price tag is a bit too steep.

Actually, I tried grafitti anywhere, way better than Jot, and it's free.

The only comment I have is that you can't simply tap and drag up to do capital letters, it opens up the grafitti help...so you have to drag up on a slight angle.

Still returning the TG50 and waiting for the next model that will be brought out!

I hope this helps!

Palm may beat Sony to market. I love my T665, but really want the T665 with the power of the TG, 32 Meg's of RAM, and changable battery. Check out the rumor below:

I hope Sony hurries. I want to stay loyal, but this sounds really good.

Alan, enable GA to turn on / off when you press a button. I mapped the jog button.

GA worked quote well...Newpen had different graffiti strokes, Joty you have to pay for...

Thanks everyone for your helpful comments.

Well at least this thread has confirmed that 3rd-party Graffiti works fine with the TG50. That makes the TG50 more acceptable for those of us who prefer Graffiti to a keyboard. At least you can still write on the screen itself (with a good screen protector!)

Of course, as DaSaint said, what EVERYONE really wants is a TG-series device with no keyboard but a full 320x480 screen, and virtual Graffiti, just like the NX series, but without the clamshell design.

Sony's really going to sell TONS of these if they release them.

I again couldn't agree more. You are right on the nose. I like the NX, but not the clamshell and bulk. I love the sleek and slim design of the T665 with the power of ARM, more RAM, bigger high res screen, and changeable battery. This is a practical one that has sold and is still selling... just look at the Tungsten T. What is Sony waiting for???
