does anyone have any experience with the symbian os 7.0 which runs the sony ericsson P800? my specific question is can data stored in the addressbook and memopad of the nz 90 be transferred and accessed to the P800? will the format be altered in the P800 if transfer is indeed possible?

not much experience with Symbian OS, but best way to find out is to try it out.
You may also want to import your address book and memopad form the PC application for your p800 to Palm Desktop and do a Hotsync or try sending entries via BT from p800 to NZ.

Anyway, both products are by Sony so it must work regardless of OS ;-)

I have a NZ and a P800(i cant use sms with oem sw and a 3rd party sw)other than that i am changing pictures, using the P800 as a BT modem for Clie mail/wepro or Netfront (Btw : P800's Opera browser is much more capable than the Netfront browser you may noticed)
Not tryed the A.Book and memopad exchange(only once for my owner card sending)

liquid,
What were the settings you used to connect to the P800. Do i need different phone drivers, or can i configure a generic gsm connection with the p800?

kenli729 you dont need any specific driver for the NZ just pair them and go its that simple(Except sms everythink is working : web,mail...)
Try it if you will face problems let me know.Just make a new network connection under via BT modem(after the pairing) and apply your sp settings if you need my settings let me know i ll post it over here.

I can only manage to use the P800 as GSM modem, but not as a GPRS modem. Could you tell me how can it be done?

wilfredt: You are paired your P800 and NZ (I Assume its ok)
Call your sp about your gprs settings and phone no to dial gprs : But usually its like : *99***1#
NZ To P800 my settings (After pairing the both devices)
NZ: Under connection menu : make a new connection(Example : my p800 or custom )
Connection : Custom(My connection name)
Connect to : Modem
Via : Bluetooth
Device : P800 (Or whatever your phones pairing name on the NZ s trusted devices list)
Dialing: Touch tone
Volume : Low
Details : Speed 57.600(Test it with 57600 first if its ok then try the115 200 setting..)
FlowCtl: Automatic
InitString : blank...

NZ under Network menu :
Make a new Network conn.
Service : Your sp name or whatever you choose
User name : Your access name (mine is gprs by default from Turkcell)
Password : Your password(Again mine is gprs its default settings from my sp)
Connetion:Custom (My connection name)
Details :
Connection type : ppp
Idle timeout : 1 minute
Query DNS box: Checked
IP Address box : Checked (Automatic)

Script : End

Btw: If your P800 access the web/mail via its built in browser or Opera browser then these settings will work on your p800 but please check your APN name under your P800 settings/control panel %90 of the sp use : internet instead of wap words under their settings parameters.

I agree with Liquid Snake about Opera on the P800.

I'd like to know where I can buy or perhaps even try an "unlocked" P800 (other than eBay)! I'd like to purchase one to use with my T-Mobile service but as yet haven't found anywhere locally to even check out the size (I live in the Washington DC area).

Beyond that, where did you all buy yours? Any direction or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm looking to hook up a P800 with my NZ90 and soon to be delivered (I hope) 17" AI Powerbook.

I'm not too inclined to go with the t68i from everything that I've read and would much prefer the upgrade capabilities of the P800.

Thanks in advance for your help.
