I have seen a skinmaker in the classifieds section. But doesn't seem to be working with my clie NX. are the skins made with that compatible with NX series ?
has anyone succeed ?

I'm not sure, but I thought that Skinmaker was used to create NR skins. If thats true, then you can use an app like NxSkinGen (http://my.dreamwiz.com/hangom/NxSkinGen1_1.zip) to convert the NR skin to NX, or you can use Photoskin (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=98418120030202224154&prodID=45001) on the NX to use the NR skins.

Are you talking about the one for editing Clie Launcher skins? If so and it is not working on the NZ please let me know.

I want to use it for NX but did not work for me.
I would be glad if the author says something about this issue.

I am the author if were talking about the same version. What exactly was the problem you had? And if possible could you send me a copy of the skin that was produced (my email is in the readme.txt) and the steps you used to create it? Please be as detailed as possible.

Has anyone else had any problems installing Launcher Skins on an NZ? As far as i know the skin layout is no different from the NX but just in case could someone with an NZ send me a copy of the file "CLIELauncherSkin.prc" from rom?

I am not using a NZ but a NX70V .
I just edit one of the files in "edit" directory. Just add a line to test it...
Then I run skinmake.exe
it asks me for a skin name and I enter "x".
Skinmake produces a file named x.prc
BUT when I install this file to the NX nothing changes (even after soft reset)
I could not find any file named CLIELauncherSkin.prc in ROM.

You have to select the skin file after install.

From the README:

Then sync the skin, go to options then preferences in ClieLauncher and click on "Display" and you should see your skin in the list both a large icon and small icon version.

I assure you it works on the NX (all the launcher skins in the skins section were made with it for the NX) and it should work fine on the NZ and might even work on the TG (no one will send me a skin file from a TG so i have no way to tell).

I did notice that i have to fix the formatting of names less than 3 characters but that does not stop it from working (or from using less than 3)

When I select display it works.

I am trying to make somethingto go well with CopperDeck VG skin. But it is really hard for me as I am not good at graphics.

It also helps if you have a good graphics program to use. I use The Gimp (freeware) myself in Linux, but they do have a windows port you could use. I do not believe it is quite as stable as the Linux version but its still better than using something like paint.
