I was using 3.0b1 before. Today I updated to 3.0b3 and moved everything back to ram then released the flash. Here's the problem, while releasing the flash i got a blank square (kinda like crashed) so I soft-reset it. After reset it seemed ok.

So I ran jackflash again and it said the flash needs to be repaired so I tapped yes. I thought everything was ok until I went back to Yishow and went to the "All" category and it gave me fatal error. This also happened in the "unfiled" category. I thought it was only yishow db problem so i deleted it. I also deleted saved/unsaved prefs and it still happened to me.

So I tried to use the default CLIE launcher and it wouldn't even go in and gave me a fatal error. and finally I did a hard reset and it still wouldn't go in CLIE launcher so I assigned a button to MS Backup are restored my clie at the state before i first used JF3.0b1. but same problem happened as stated above.

It seems that "releasing flash" crash screwed up something in the rom. anyone has experienced with this?

Contact Brayder Tech and have them help you, they're pretty good !

good luck with your dead clie....

playing around in flash is just asking for trouble. go out and buy yourself a bigger stick. i mean is gaining 4mb ram worth the trouble?

basically I can still use my clie. The only categories I cannot go into from yishow are "All" and "Unfiled" so that means some/new apps I cannot run from launcher I can only run from assigning a hard button to it in prefs. This is very unconvenient. I have contacted brayder and waiting for an answer. I hope this can be done software-wise instead of sending it in for repair.

UPDATE: I fixed it finally.
This sounds very strange but I accidently found out the problem was caused by the memory stick. I put in a different stick and I was able to get into CLIE launcher. After removing that problem MS I was also able to fix yishow by removing its DB files. what a relieve now!

It's really weird how jackflash had something to do w/ the memory stick!?

did jackflash have any files stored on the stick?

I'll let Brayder tell you for sure, but it sounds like the entire problem was probably due to the Yishow DB app, where it expected apps in one spot, then they weren't there, so it got confused. There was a similar problem with LX that we found yesterday, something that really seemed like a JF problem, but turned out to be entirely an LX bug.

Files can get corrupted on the memory stick. When a launcher goes to read the folder, it chokes! I have had this happen with YiShow before without using JackFlash. I now only use ZLauncher. Once I reformatted the MS, it was fine. Thank goodness I had good backup copies of my MS on my hard drive.

A warm reset at times can be a great lifesaver too! There are several threads available on how to use it.
