Cannot hotsync when connected to usb hub

If my clie's usb is directly connected to the pc, I can hotsync without problem. However, if I connect it to a usb hub, hotsync won't work. Any ideas if it's doable? I already emailed Sony's Tech Support. Waiting for their answer right now. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'll try my hub when I get a chance. I do not normally use one.

Not all hubs are the same, so it could be the brand/model of hub you're using. Similar problems can occur with other devices.
