OK, I downloaded the much-ughed trial release of CherryOS. It looks a lot better and a lot easier to use than PearPC, I will give it that. Overall, it feels unprofessional and rushed.
Now it's booting with the OS X CD. It slows my Athlon 64 3500+ system down to a crawl displaying that grey apple.
Oh, what's this? The stripey bar thing.. it's moving at real speed! The booting speed is much improved from PearPC 0.3.0. The guest mouse speed and everything is, well, lacking to say the least. Mouse accuracy is nowhere near accurate with my MX1000. The speed does surprise me, though. It's maybe the speed of a 200MHz G3. It feels faster than my original Bondi iMac in some ways, and much slower in others.
I mentioned previously that the interface looked nice, but the functionality leaves much to be desired. The emulated resolution is 1024x768 and not resizable as far as I can tell right now. No scrolling, either.
My verdict so far is that, while not worth $50, it's a nice step up in ease of use and that's about it from PearPC.

Thanks. Sounds like something to tinker with.

Emulators are fun when they work. I wish MS would've never bought VPC from Connectix.
