View Full Version : Can 2 different PDA using the same registered software?
Hi all,
I am new to PDA, and I just bought 2 Sony Clie (NR 70V and T665). I wonder if I can use both PDA for the same registered software? Thanks.
P.S: and I use two different computers.

as long as they have the same user ID.
I don't think one computer can handle two Palms with the same user ID though.

Legally: Probably not, need to read the license for each application.
Technically: Probably, but you will most likely have to use the same User name for both PDAs (or at least the User name that each application was registered under). This will only work (using same User name on both PDAs) if each only syncs on one computer, and not the other. If you ever sync a PDA with the "other" computer, I think you stand a good chance of confusing things. Never tried that myself.
Note: I believe that some apps are actually registered with a particular device id. These are apps you want to avoid, as it means you can not upgrade PDAs without at least contacting the vendor again.

Check the fine print first. Most softwares are restricted to only just one COMPUTER.

you can always just try...since some programs don't use your hotsync id...but like others have said .... check the license agreement
